Since you have Minecraft on the PC, you should be aware that the Xbox 360 is nowhere near the Pc version in terms of features or its updates. The Xbox 360 Edition currently sits equivalent to the PCs 1.0.1 release version, while the PC is at 1.5. Also be aware that the worlds are limited to 864x864 and not the 30,000,000x30,000,000 like the PC. Finally, you cannot play in a friends world unless they are online and have it going. Same goe for people playing your worlds. The host must be on and playing in order for others to do the same.
It is much easier to play with your friends as all they need to do is start a world and invite you. Also, if you prefer a controller over a mouse/keyboard, there is that. The game also runs very smooth with little to no framerate fluctuations. Be aware that the Xbox 360 Edition is just that, the Xbox 360 Edition. It is not the Pc version on the Xbox. It will never be exactly the same as the PC. Certain things will never be added to the Xbox 360 Edition and 4J plans on taking the Xbox version in it's own direction soon.
Thats hard to answer......i think it depends how much you like minecraft, Xbox is behind for now but it wont always be, if you can deal with that then i would just worry if your friends left you hanging for another game, not many people have the patience and they give up on their worlds leaving you with an unfinished project and time wasted on it. Personally i like xbox version because i started my minecraft experience there and i dont need much fancyness.......the way i see it is, a cave is a cave....kreepers still kreep... Just pick one and have fun! You could have laid 20 blocks or more by the time your done reading this post xD

MG, you forgot to mention that you do have the option to play locally with friends on the same Xbox using splitscreen mode. You do not have to be online to do this.

pc doesnt have split screen, nuff said, anyway i got both pc and xbox and i played xbox way more, and builds on xbox are better because they are harder to make

Builds on the Xbox 360 Edition and the PC version are exactly the same. They both have Creative and Survival Mode.
The only thing that makes building on the Pc easier is stuff like World Edit, which not everyone uses. Even then, there are people who takes months to build what they build even with World Edit.

Another question is, do you have a lot of friends on Xbox Live that play it. That can make a big difference on fun factor. I have both but I play the Xbox version a lot more for that reason, despite the PC version having more features now.
I actually bought the PC version to use it for building structures, taking snapshots of them and using them to illustrate pen & paper RPG games.

You still have to learn HOW to use world edit.

I have come to the decision of buying it!
