That's How I Feel...
I'll see a build on lets say YouTube or the Creations Section Of the forums and for some reason I do not find them as impressive simply for the fact that they are "Creative Builds".
Now Show me a "Survival Only" Massive town or city or whatever and then I'm Like Wow.... anyone else feel the same?
I stopped watchin alot of youtubers when they starter doing "creative so and so episodes" I used to love watching them pre-creative mode.. The builds were impressive simply because I thought of the effort put in place to collect the resources prior to them building these structures..
Am I the only one that feels this way?
Again just a personal opinion, I understand the creativity behind the builds and time spent on them while in creative is still there.....

I feel like it's a yes and a no. Massive and detailed creative structures are insanely impressive, regardless of whether or not resources were collected. Every time I've set out to make a monstrous creative build I just can't do it.
Creative builds are less impressive than survival builds when they're smaller and the resources would've taken a few hours to collect on survival.
I'll upload my survival house when I'm home tonight. I think it's impressive for a survival build (considering how many times I fell off while building), but it's laughable if it were created in creative.
I could care less whether something was built in Creative or Survival. What matters is how it looks.
You can go into creative, make a giant dome and act impressed with yourself. However, if that giant dome is just that, an empty giant dome, I see nothing impressive about it. Now if you make a dome, stylize it and fill it with something like what is shown below, color me impressed.
Same thing goes for the most popular structure type to build. I could care less if you spent 100 hours building castle if it looks really plain and is just a shell. Decorate the insides and outsides. Put some creative designs into it.

C'mon, it makes no difference what mode one builds in. If its a good build...well that's what it is.S,M,L,XL. A good build just is. I chuckle when I read legit build. Should just say "lotta time invested build".
i feel more proud of survial build anything besides survial is a load of (pork) cause we have Mobs,Blocks to gather,Falling,Hunger, idk i find creative boring as heck
I agree with Crafty i personally HATE creative. the only time i use creative is out of utter boredom survival is much more rewarding, think about it *Hey I went on creative and built a huge castle!* then *I finnaly finished this castle after weeks of gathering!* actual quotes by some of my friends online i saw the difference the one in creative is an amazing builder the one in survival just as good the creative one was bland without any design at all. The other looked like it would win a Nobel prize. After that they switched same results one boring one amazing creative just has no design in building, atleast not from what i have seen.
hmm... I don't look to see whether built in creative or survival, as that really has not much bearing on it, unless it just happens to be a dirt box or too boxy with no real decor to it. Anyone can make a box out of a solid resource. I can't say that I am any better, as that is how I started, but that was in survival. Still that world is something I go back to every so often (Arcavia).. I never switch to creative on that specific one as I find creative only as a tool not a building spree.
Sure survival might be more resource intensive, but creative has more freedom and less falls... I usually judge for myself what looks decent or not. Each has their own style or way of building, and that can not be held against someone. It might take less time in creative to build things, but that is not the point. The point is how well they accent their builds, the way they use each block, color arrangement, and down right different ways to use Illusionary techniques; ie playing with shadows, arches, and the like. Also another bearing would be how flat the world is. To me if built on a flat world, it just doesn't look right.
The only time I ever would use a flat world is for testing or trial and error for a build or build style. Practice only, not actual application into a build. Anyway, if it runs under the style of build I am not fond of, I at least look at what they have done and look at the detail at which they put into it among other things. Not sure if that explains the way I look at this, but I tried.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
creative just has no design in building, atleast not from what i have seen.
Whether someone builds something with good, appleaing design has nothing to do with whether it was made in Creative or Survival.
That falls to the person doing the build. Like an artists painting. Saying Creative results in uninspired builds is a load of bull. All of these were made in Creative and definitely are not bland. Again, that is down to the builder.

i know but nothing more is amazing than having the satisfaction of finishing something on survival that would have taken long on creative
Well if you think about it the survival builders are extremely impressive considering that they have to gather the resources and are risking their lives to build what they try to and creative builders have no extreme danger or shortage on their lives or resources. I mean sure people that build amazing things on creative but if you do the stuff legit survival it will be 5x as cool to people!
I guess I forgot that these buildings are not impressive because the people who designed them didn't go out and mine, refine, transport, and place every single piece of it while fighting off strange monsters. Damn those lazy people.
I'm tired of people bringing up these arguments. The recent surge of "cheating" threads and these "creative is less impressive" threads does nothing but create a flame war in the community. Utterly pointless. Everything is based on opinion. Your opinion doesn't and shouldn't degrade the work of another.
If you put extra effort into something and build in survival then that's great you should be extremely proud even if its made of dirt.
But the quality of most creative builds and time spent on them requires applause as well just because they pulled the resources out of their butt doesn't mean a lot of hard work wasn't put in.

i do lots of megabuilds, and the feelings after their done are, relief dread(because i dont know what to build next) pride (wearyness dissapearing, and a extreme sense of release (maby thats just me? )
While I do hate diamond and gold castles pure block castles, etc. I am a creative builder simply because its quicker, I can make the right terrain for my build, and you dont have to worry about trashing a freaking biome to make something. No getting killed by monsters, no structures made of pure freaking cobblestone and wood, no dying of heights. It is worry free. I think most survival builders felt cheated when creative came out and suddenly their worlds looked inferior to others. Thus they have vowed to stick to survival and hate creative.

I normally dont use creative however when I just wanna build stuff ill go into creative and do just that
I cant even begin to imagine how long it wouldve taken me to build all of this in survival
the house is sandstone and wood logs btw
creative or not I dont really think it matters, ive built some amazing stuff in survival but there are some things that just arent very plausible only in survival
No. Just no. I've built a whole city in survival from 1.6 to 1.7 without duping. It looked awesome! However, the stuff I build now in creative look so much nicer and I think are much more appealing to the eye. I like to build in both modes, but there is just some things like massive city builds that just take way too long, and sometimes are not even possible to do in survival without duplication. If someone shows me a creative build that looks 100x better than a survival build, I'm not gonna say the creative build looks less impressive than the survival one because that dude went out and mined his resources. That just makes no sense to me..
You guys are stubborn, if I saw that eden build look exactly the same as creative mode and as survival I would obviously say the survival one is more impressive. Creative builders need to quit crying and trying to defend laziness.
