I kinda hammered on you a little too much in the beginning of the thread, UUA -- and I feel bad about that, and apologize. But I'm not sure what you're trying to get me to admit. That I'm rebuking anyone else who does this, under the guise of beating myself up?
Don't feel bad - I can be a bit blunt when I type (but honest I'm really a very nice, laid back sort of person). My point is that it's not our place to tell you whether or not jumping into creative ruined survival for you (and you did phrase that part as a question). Invariably there are some that would say it does and some that would say it doesn't - and both would be correct for themselves and possibly incorrect for you. If it's a solitary world, it's a boundary you have to work out for yourself... and then, if you want to continue to enjoy the game, find your own way into reviving your interest. This game doesn't set the limits for you. There are no hard and fast rules; but that doesn't mean that it doesn't ask us a multitude of important "life questions." For some people, making the game easier on themselves is not only OK, it's what keeps them interested in it. For others, making it harder on themselves is what keeps them going. How they respond to themselves in the game could be transfering over into how they motivate themselves IRL. The key to success is in learning which way truly "works" for you.
I think what he's trying to say is that the only opinion that matters is your own. There are going to be people that use creative to get everything, even if they can get it in survival. And there are going to be people that have the same opinion as you, who think using creative to give themselves anything ruins the game.
