theres a glitch where if you get lined up with another players nametag and a chest you can see the chest on the name tag but ONLY on the lines such as the white border and the letters. i noticed that a few weeks ago

i think you may just be a bad hider. i hide my stuff in plain sight almost and no one ever finds them. sometimes i think of hosting a server where everyone just tries to find the one chest hidden right by my house

thats exactly what ive been doing. ive been kicking annoying people more and more lately

I say, just hide the chest really well, like make some secret compartment or cave somehwere and hide in a complicated place where no one would think to look, then see if he finds it. If he does find it, he may be doing the x-ray glitch. So basically, I'm saying test him to see if he's either a really smart guy (or you're a noob chest hider) or he's using the glitch when you push the TNT into you with the piston.

I know exactly what is happening because it happened to me! He is on your map so his screen and world loads A LOT slower than yours. When he comes up to the area before it loads he can see everything underground. It could be the xray trick but it is probably just slow loading!

Find a lava pool.
Clear out a 4x4 center area of the lava.
Dig down about 5 tiles deep.
Put ladders around the layer just below the lava.
Dump water in the bottom.
Put a shelf for your chest.
Get out and dump lava over the top hole.

Viola! A perfectly hidden chest hole. Just jump into the lava, you fall through, water puts out the fire, and you are in front of the chest.

do not do this!. how will he get out hmm. if he swims up he will still get burnt from the lava above. plus he has to jump from a high spot to just go right through lava

I play with my kids some and they have issues refraining from raiding my chests when they are in a hurry to build something lol. So in the last group house I built for us I piggybacked onto a redstone circuit that open a door in the main living area for a lava light and ran it to a hidden room under a water feature. That way there is an explanation for the lever and a distraction because it does something other than what I want it to...

thats very smart. it seems like something i would do. i use something/ someone as a distraction

i suggest in the future if they trap chest or those trapping string things or put a dispensers with mob eggs or arrow or do a tnt pressure sand fall basically make traps if any friend is a thief/griefer

might wanna check if your in the xbox section or the computer section next time

Test if he is X-raying, dig down randomly anwhere you want (preferebly not next to your house just go out in the middle of nowhere) make a small room and put a chest there with maybe just one diamond in it because if there is nothing good he most likely wont take it anything. Make sure it is lit so you can tell if he is X-raying. Write down the coordinates of your chest so you can check it. If he finds that one, he is X-raying.

If going to your hidden chest doesn't feel like this, you're doing it wrong.
