Do you use utilitarian blocks for aesthetic purposes in survival? Not talking about mining with silk touch but like making a block from 9 iron, gold or diamond. I just made a bedroom out of iron block but i have used so much gold for power rails that i have 5 pieces left. I have 30 plus diamonds and many diamond tools. But by build I mean enough to build a small house or a tower or room with that material.
The reason i have enough iron for building is because I strip rails from abandoned mines, using all diamond tools, and wearing leather armor. How about you?
but it's so pretty ... my bedroom is on top of my house and it looks like silver blocks. if i just had enough gold to accent it.
Yes but imagine a creeper attack..... so much lost iron. So many things can and will go wrong.. Though I do use it on creative for my redstone wiring.. Iron and Gold Blocks. That's all... Quit it!

creeper smeeper... hey it's OK if i wore a tampon i wouldn't build with iron blocks in survival either.
It really seems like a massive waste of resources, not to mention it doesn't really look too good unless you use a texture pack. Besides, I usually prefer to build with wood, some stone, wool, and other simple materials.

"A sword yields no power if the person who wields it holds no courage."
I would only use those blocks if I can think of something to use them in, and have more than enough to do it with... After all you can make a modern stove out of one. Then again I don't really build modern things, so that would clash a bit in the way I build things and I guess my own style as well a combination of other similar styles.. If there is surplus maybe...

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
The only time I used Iron and Lapis for a build was messing around with a friend and we had tons of extras and decided to make a "dance floor" by checkering them. I never use them seriously for a build. I can't stand the way they look. I prefer stone for my builds.

Once you build on a world for enough time, your iron supply is going to rise and rise. Eventually, turn the supply into Blocks of Iron and use them in a modern build.
Not only are gold, iron, and diamond blocks expensive, they also are somewhat ugly as building blocks.
I don't like the diamond block and only used alot of it once in creative to build a 60 block high statue of steve in the basic skin. used diamond for pants. But i like the look of iron and it's safe from lightning strikes wool isn't. I also like gold in contrast with obsidian and have toped an obsidian pyramid with gold before.

you speeled it wrong you meant "No that's awesome!"
but it's so pretty
Reason one being that I use my resources so it would be a massive waste of my resources. Reason 2, all of the blocks for the materials are ugly.

LMAO!!!
Stay fluffy~
Iron blocks for map making. Looks clean.
I make most of them into blocks so I could save some space in my chest.
