Welcome one in all to the Minecraft Building Contest for the Xbox 360. If your reading this then you yourself have taken the first step in entering to become the next great builder.
COMPETITION TOPIC
This topic for this competition is Movie/Video Game themed builds. The goal for this one was to make you think outside the box and get some original entries in the works. Any entry that is based of off, modeled, or taken from a video game/movie will be reviewed. Anything from a replica of a Halo Warthog to an evil lair from a 007 movie I want to see it all. The competition starts now March 12th 2013 7:30AM EST. All submissions for this contest must be in by March 26th 2013 7:30AM EST. Any submission made after this date WILL NOT be reviewed. Best thing about this competition? There is now a 800 Microsoft Point prize on the line. Get creating!
What is this contest all about?
This contest will allow the various individuals and teams of Minecraft builders across the forum to enter there creations into a contest against other creators to duke it out (figuratively of course) and see who really is the next great creator.
How does it work?
Every three weeks I will post a new topic of creation (castles, cities, etc.) You then have two weeks to build your heart out alone or with friends and come up with your best possible creation. At the end of the two week deadline I will review ALL the submissions I receive that meet the criteria of that particular contest and narrow the selection down two three top finalists. From there a group of judges and myself will explore the three finalists creation by visiting your world. At the end of the "week of review" The panel of judges will decide the winner of the contest and the second runner up.
What do I win?
800 Microsoft Points - 1st Place
How do I enter?
Entering the contest is easy and requires no dues or entry fees. You can enter by going into your world with your creation and taking various pictures. You may send in as many pictures as you like (more is better than less) but each submission must have at least five pictures including a birds eye view, a front view, and three interior views. Again the more pictures the better. Once you've taken your pictures you can go to the MCX360: Creations section of the forum and create a thread of your creation. The title may be anything you like just make sure the pictures are included in the thread . The forum requires you to provide a description of your creation so be sure to explain what it is and other details about it. Once your thread has been created send me a personal message on the forum with a link to the thread of your creation. If you already have a thread of your creation on the forum just make sure it meets the submission requirements before sending me a link. That's it your now entered in the competition.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do NOT attempt to send me a world file of your creation! This is against the forum rules and will disqualify you from further contests
How will I know if I've won?
If you are selected to be in the top three finalists you will receive a personal message on the forum from me. In the message will be further details on the next steps.
How is the competition judged?
All submissions sent to me that meet the criteria are reviewed by me personally. To narrow down the initial submissions I will look at the following things
-Originality
-Use of Detail
-Complete Designs
-Creativity
Once the submissions have been narrowed down to the final three myself and the judges will look for the same things but in a more detailed manner.
didnt think we where allowed to give out prizes on this forum ?
The rules for giveaways changed a while back the current rule sates that giveaways must be free of extra requirements like follow me on twitter or subscribe to my YouTube channel to enter the contest. As for the gift card once I buy it it is legally mine to do with as I wan't, whether it be give it away or burn it (don't know why you would haha). I'm glad to because I am more than willing to give my money to see all your creative minds at work, sometimes it is truly amazing.
Here is the current rule on Giveaways if you wanted to know.
Giveaways Member-run giveaways or contests that require performing a specific action for entry (eg: subscribe to my Youtube channel, follow me on Twitter) are not allowed
Can we make a video showing our creation instead of pictures?
Your more than welcome to use a video submission as your entry, just make sure it still shows the parts of the creation listed in the contest rules. Also make sure that when creating a thread for your video you still abide by the Minecraft Rules.
It's been around since people could look at people's creations and its been done a million times. I just decided to bring it to the forums and make it work.
Just a little inspiration for all your competitors out there. This is actually what gave me the idea for this competition theme. I was working on this bad boy and EUREKA! Any who its not done and may never be but it still looks cool. (Barad - dûr from Lord of The Rings). Oh its aso 1:10 scale in size based of the numbers I found online.
Don't worry this won't be in the competition and nor will anything submitted that is related to LOTR be viewed in a different light, all unbiased.
