I Just came up with an automatic minecart mine-and-store system. A minecart with furnace pushes my full storage carts to the storage room and brings me back an empty one Multiple runs can be done.
How do you get the cart to empty?????
I have a factory with all sorts of piston farming: wheat, cactus, sugar cane, cobblestone, mushrooms, etc.
What i would love to make/see is a cow slaughterhouse with some horrible piston conveyer belt into a fire pit.
My world is pretty manual. I don't even have a slime ball to make pistons or gold yet... If I did though, the very least I would have is an automated railway system.
I have the power, but refuse to make my farm and such eficient. I much prefer "hand harvesting."
The most "efficiency" is when I built a giant platform i a creative world--I swigged Swift II (ext.) and moved in a straight line, sweeping back and forth.
It doesn't "empty" the cart; just stores the full cart and sends back an empty one.
As for myself: I'm all about efficiency, but not in terms of machines that make survival mode easier. I won't bore anyone with the details, but I try to find the most efficient ways to apply Boolean algebra to values in redstone. When I do have that rare urge to play survival, I never make it to the point of having excess redstone. It's fun while I'm in the beginning stages of a world; running from mobs, hastily collecting resources, and actually trying to survive. But the game becomes way too easy, and much to quickly. If I want the experience of actually struggling to survive, I will play ADOM, NetHack, Crawl, or Dwarf Fortress.
Piston doors tend to be less efficient than a regular door. xD
You might be right, but double doors are finicky and I like big doors. Pistons make my life much easier.
Plus it looks awesome when a hole in a mountain appears out of nowhere.
