Do you ever bring your wolf/wolves to help you in fighting monsters or to protect you while you go on adventures and such, or do you just let your wolf lie aound at your house?

Dah best song everz!!!!!!! YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO CLICK IT! So what are you waiting for? Okay dont click it and be left out on a epic song... yea you dont want that SO CLICK IT!
I didn't before but their pathfinding seems to not be so stupid now. I've had wolves run around big drops and lava pits instead of barreling straight in now.
At one point I had to build entire house for my wolves *might have been feeding them to much* I ended up with nearly 20 wolves happened over a period of 2 MC months. I take around 2 at a time.
So for the most part people take their wolves its just a 50/50 kinda deal, keep some home and take a few with ya. Wow I only got myself 1 wolf, gotta get mor eit looks like!
I was just asking because when I play with friends on xbox live they just get a wolf (or 14+) and just never take them, some even built like a big ol dog house for em.

I usually keep mine at home when I'm mining or exploring or something, but sometimes I'll go hunting and bring them along to kill animals more quickly.
I take two with me normally. I leave pairs of them stationed at key points on the map. right now i have 8 but have had 20 plus before. if im hunting for endermen at night i will take 5. if i don't have wolves with me they teleport away before i can get the goodies and the wolves help when you are attacked by zombies spiders or skeletons while fighting the endermen.
I rarely take my wolf(ves) with me anywhere. I find that when I do take them, they usually get me into more trouble because I tend to pay more attention to where they are and what they are doing than where I am and what I'm doing (usually resulting in some sort of tragic fall on my part).
I have not gotten one yet. However when I decide to get one, I think maybe it depends on my mood whether I would have one tag along or not. Of course I wouldn't take one to mine with or something like that, but would maybe if I went exploring the rest of the world.:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
i've tried several times, but usually end up killing them myself as they block a doorway or carelessly step on a pressure plate trap or push me off a cliff or something...
i've never really needed the help in combat, except for very early on in hardmode... before i've got enough iron for armor... even then, more of a hinderance than a help.
I'm a breeder. Even with the ridiculous animal spawning, I like to breed. This includes wolves. So I tend to have at least 8 wolves at all times. I take 2 with me when I go out at night just to help protect me, and I leave the other 6 at home. There's always one by my bed for when the games says "Nope, no sleeping tonight! ZOMBIEEES!!!!" Tends to happen a lot, even if I have a billion torches...
I usually leave them in my room in the side of my mine.. guarding the mineshaft!, i probally have around 20..
well after reading some of these comments im thinking about taking them out and killing all who come in my way!! Muahahahahahahahahaha
I remember the first time I brought my wolf with me, she fell into a open surface lava vent and after that I made a grave for her with gunpowder as ash in a chest :(. I got another one, he and I went out fighting mobs at night and sadly he got blown up by a creeper, shortly after his death I went on a RAMPAGE killing any monster and creeper I saw!
I got a new one now but I dont want him or her to sit at home 24/7, maybe take him out during day? (I found my first one to be female when a friend breeded her with another wolf and the pup came from her side, same with my 2nd. The new one is still unkown?)

I don't take my puppies out when I have them. Haven't bothered with my current map. I don't see much use for them other than aesthetic. Would be more useful if besides sit and follow, they had a guard command - sick anything not me coming within a certain range. Then I'd have 20 puppies on my roof killing all the stuff that spawns up there (even with burning netherrack, torches and lava).
I can't stand wolves. In my very first world on the Xbox Edition a friend went wolf crazy and so all three of us have wolves. He has so many that you can't touch him without being mauled (we tend to hit each other a lot, just messing around and such). In the rare case I have a wolf, I leave it in a dog house and don't ever bring it with me. They get in the way, and I can't stand the noise they (and other animals) make.
