When the simplest most effective solution has already been given why would you even take the time to post "your method".
It's convoluted and pointless... Sorry not to be a jerk. But I would imagine your method would simply confuse others new to the game..
He hardly sounded new to the game. Furthermore i suggested a second way that is more 'involving' and a project style that at least takes more then 10 seconds to setup. Why do something half-a.s.sed when a real project can be made outa it that not only works but doesn't involve 'luring' creepers and attempting to trap them in an area where anything can and probably will go wrong.
Point is he asked for suggestions i gave him one you gave him one, and if you don't like my suggestion to fing bad. Yeah you did come off as a jerk and now so did i.

True, he does not sound new which is why I said "others".
But your response is equivalent to someone asking something like "Hey how do I get blaze rods?" and Me responding "Well get on youtube, build Etho's 45min design,go out of the nether run 2 times around the map then come back to the nether, then hit button one then hit button 2 and about 1hr later you'll have a blaze rod!"
When the simple answer is go to the nether take a sword. Kill a blaze. Done!
See... just because you give your 2hr method on how to do the same thing doesn't mean its better or that the simple answer is half assed... Just saying....could of saved yourself some time

fair enough, i just always try to push things to a 'project', rather then a temp solution. Being that i work with a team i kinda lead everything to lets not do a half job on it and see what we can really make it do.
Our record studio works very well, with little risk involved when producing them, and it was a fun project to take on, doing so will not only teach ways of manipulating water, and mobs, but also simple red stone contraptions, and to jam it all together increases creativity and ways of compacting designs, as well as to think outside the box.
I meant no offense when i offered my solution, only attempted to lure the OP into making a larger scale project out of it.
No harm done and apologies for my act of aggression against you.
PS, this project can be used later, as the creepers can be used to 'insta-mine' cobblestone and other resources that you push into their explosion boxes.
What we did was create a box that we push generated cobblestone into thier cage made out of obsidian, a minecart with a player whips through a smaller room attached to the explosion room so that the creeper can 'see' the player, he detonates and turns items into their drop state which are carried out of the room via water streams and easily picked up.
Currently we only have cobblestone and tree farming hooked up to it but in time who knows what else those nice little creepers can help us mine.

No prob sir.. Believe me I've more than once have taken on some overly complicated approaches at things....
Some are fun and some are just headaches... mainly fun though

That is the one I use and it works great. I have 11/12 of the discs. Only thing I recommend is extending the "middle" area by 1 extra block, I was having issues with the creeper blowing up from the skeleton being too close, but extending the middle section 1 block fixed it so they weren't close enough to blow up anymore.
yea i had that same issue with this setup. made the whole thing out of obsidian but the creeper blew up everytime so I extended the middle like you said and it works fine just captured 3 creepers a few minutes ago and each one dropped a different disk. it's raining in my world now but when it stops im going to play my juke box.
