i have to clear out 1/5th of the maps water(and the whole maps water)
what ways are the best to remove the water?
ive tried bucket
sand
falling lava(got stuck in sky) O.o
pistons pushing sand (fastest way i think)
filling it out under water (longest way)
and stone on water and 18+ sand up then let it all drop at once
oh and i cant waterbend it
do you have a suggestion what i can do to get rid of heaps of water?
i have to clear out 6x that water, this pic makes it look like a small amount because i cant take a pic of my map but i assure you its not
I tend to fly over the surface (assuming creative) and clear about 4 layers down and then proceed to the next block over.
This seems to work pretty well and doesn't require material breaking later.
I'm looking for a way to do this too, it kinda sucks that it takes so long to do it legit. I'll probably have to use MCEdit (i'm on PC), which sucks, because I want to keep my world legit, but it would take months to do that with the size of the chamber I'm clearing...

If survival...God help you.
its deep ocean about 0.5/10th is in 4 blocks of my reach lol
Delete the world. There, all the water has been removed.
Honestly there is no great way to do it. Even in Creative Mode it would take an insanely long time to do something like that. The best way I can suggest is Sand or another type of abundant block like Cobblestone or something.
You could always take a bucket of lava, dump it on the water so it turns into Stone or Cobblestone and then just mine it out. Rinse and repeat until your done basically.
If filling it in completely is what you want, there is no better way than just biting the bullet and filling it in... unless it would be starting with a map that was better suited to your purposes in the first place.
Unless you want to spend 9 hours clearing it out (i did a similar huge water clearout in creative and i took a little bit over 9 hours and i had help) i found that if you start with the edges it works better but if you do it in survival ... well you will have a projet for an upcoming week.project)

i have to fill up with sandget rid of sand blow up earth undeath that then build boat then let water in lol
By finding a map more suited to your needs, I mean - If you started the boat on a desert next to water, you will effectively eliminate the getting rid of the water first by filling the area with sand... then, you would just be left with getting rid of the natural desert sand and allowing the water to flow into the area after the boat is finished.
I'm confused. You want to build a boat in the water, but want to get rid of all of the water?
Why not just build the boat in the water and leave the water? Like this...
This person just built there boat in the water. The only water you'll have to clear out is in the bottom of the boat after you build the shell of the hull.

because this is the biggest monster boat ever on xbox, i have to dig into the ground to make it bigger and id rather get rid of water and blow up ground than digging it out all by myselfyou want to come on my world and see the daunting massive shape of it?
