I'm not sure if this will stay exclusive to the computer, but one of the updates that happened way back when was a mode where you can set your world to Large biomes, meaning you just have to have that option turned on then just look for a desert seed and it would be at least 16 times bigger, so hopefully in the future we will get this!
.
Large Biomes is a World Type that causes the biomes of the Overworld to be expansive. This is the third World Type option available to the player, the others being Default and Superflat. The player can use a map to gain a visual representation of the scale of the biomes in their world.
Large Biome worlds are generated as Default worlds, but 16x bigger. A Default and Large Biome world sharing the same seed will be the same overall geographically, but the Large Biomes world will be approximately 16 times bigger, with the x and z axis multiplied by 4.

two things come to mind for me.
1. being able to pick which type of terrain generation you get. yanno, based on the updates.
2. being able to pick HOW the terrain generates. island seed, forest seed, mountain seed...things like that.
