They usually are because I like to design my buildings from the "bone and support"... It's so much easier to do it this way and it looks much more aesthetically pleasing, but that's just me, everyone has their own taste.
My current house is an upgraded version of a npc villager's house, which looks structurally sound to me.
Minecraft law of physics #1
An object that is at rest will stay at rest unless an external force acts upon it. Blocks; excluding sand and gravel; exist in a quantum state existing in multiple dimensions simutaneously. Once a block is placed it is also located in a 5th visually cloaked dimension that 'holds' the block in place.
Avatars, sheep, sand blocks etc. do not exist in the 5th quantum state and follow typical rules of gravity similar to those of the earth seed.
I like the look of things when they match real world laws of physics. So bridges have supports that rest on stone at the water line etc. So does your world look like it could be in Architectural Digest or a fantasy portrait.
i agree with you i think its a important detail, like a boat with water(seriously ive seen flying boats wtf)i build beams on my houses roof as if to hold it up and i cant wait till the texture pack so glass looks amazing (:

Me too, strangely enough. 0_o And I'm not talking about an airship, I've seen some of those that were just amazing. But I mean a modern yacht, just floating several meters above the land. I guess I don't have much room to talk though... I do own a flying computer.
Minecraft worlds have a different gravity to ours so dont need as much support to hold structures up, hence why huge mountains are held up by a single block lol
I mine those out. It just bothers me. OCD

If by "UR", you mean "your", then yes, I make structurally sound buildings.

Yes it does. You don't float when you jump. Sand and gravel fall. Arrows and snowballs will fall towards the ground, as will splash potions.
