Only been playing on the Xbox version for a few days but it seems (maybe i'm wrong), creepers are exploding too quickly in the Xbox version. On the PC i can go back and forth hit them with a sword and they never blow up, on the Xbox when i try to do that they always seem to explode while i'm backing up... Anyone else noticed that?
laptop = killed by lag...>< computer explosion...lol
On a serious note the pc and xbox are quite different, especially in the game mechanics. Yes creepers are more touchy on the xbox, but they were at one point in the pc too. It was not until they updated their AI pathing that things started to be different. On the xbox I can do hit and run tactics easily. It just takes a quick step back, not just walking back. Quick reflexes helps, but also you have to keep an ear out to listen to the ssssss... Otherwise you are not backing up fast enough if not far enough. It takes practice, and the best place to practice is in water. Now that is difficult to get them to not explode, since water slows you down...lol

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I don't play the PC version, but I have noticed that it always looks easier to tussle with a creeper in the PC videos than it has ever been for me on the Xbox. I've been blown up more times and in more different ways than I care to count. So, if you think there is a difference, I'm all for believing it. BOOM...
Once i get a bow and/or diamond sword it doesn't seem to be an issue. but the game i started today has already seen 6 creepers explode. none got me but just couldn't get all the ones i went after in time.
i don't have many issues with creepers as long as i know they're there.
even with an iron sword on normal difficulty, they can be dispatched pretty easily...
the trick for me is to do the 'run attack' so it knocks them back, and start backing up the very instant that you strike, (which often requires you to start backing up a bit early on servers especially)
I love watching the mushroom cloud ascending after the lastest creeper blows itself and half my map up...
Lots of variables on how big the explosion is. In soil and sand its larger than cobble or rock. I like to jump in a pond in front of my base (and on the top), then they go KA-BLOOEY and I don't even get a scratch.
But I have my bow with infinite, flaming arrows now - so I nuke them before they even see me. No more sneaky ninja-creeper's of nuclear doom death for me.

Then again, the PC Creepers explosion radius is affected by the games difficulty setting.
xbox = explosion like normal
laptop = killed by lag...>< computer explosion...lol
