Alright over the last month or so (not in consistancy)I've been trying to get a world ready for the end update. Ive found an end portal, gotten 12 eye of enders, and found almost enough diamond to make a full body armor...... Then my friend told me that updates don't work on older maps....... Now my question is does it???????
The End is expected to be a bit of an exception to the prevous pattern. It is not "new terrain" connected to old terrain, but an entirely new dimension; so 4J added the End portals along with the strongholds in 1.8.2 specificaly so that people would not have to generate new worlds in order to access the End once it was also added to the game. So, if your world already has an intact end portal,the End should be accessible from your old world.
