overwhelmed by how much work/time it's gonna take. i started building a (too big) sphere using plotz.
60 diameter/layers. 9288 blocks for the shell. i've built the first 30 layers. going to completely fill it with stone, build houses/biomes on the top, and goingo to make caves/dungeons inside the stone filled part. then do the top half in of the shell/sphere in glass.
once i started filling it in with stone i realized how DUMB I AM. HOW TIME CONSUMING THIS IS GONNA BE. >_<
For me it is that my builds are almost as big as the map with detailed designs and patterns while also having symmetry in a non-superflat world due to me desiring underground work as well as hitting the sky limit.
while i understand the draw of a superflat world, i've never even loaded one up. i just think it looks better building with/around the terrain. using mountains and lakes and rivers and ravines to add to the look of a build.
I have done that too many to be satisfied for myself. I have started multiple buildings and halfway through I think to myself: "What in the Duece am I doing with my life?!"

I was starting a 3D skull on a world and got about 1/3rd of the way through. What a pain in the rear it was due to the jaw. There were so many gaps in each layer due to the way the jaw is. I was just starting to get to the layers where the spine and skull meet.
Happens to me all the time. I remember I was working on a christmas village and I flattened the land and all that Jaz and I never even did it. I just deleted the world. I also have a half finished roller coaster but they'll probably never get done.
This ALWAYS happens to me. I built a huge castle, I explored the world, it was crappy. I looked at other castles, mine was crappy. Literally a weeks worth just to be deleted.
Same with my city, other 2000 castles, houses, temples...
I have started a 3x3 chunk-error in a server.
If it weren't for the friendly players, this thing would be torture, though making 100 layers of Stone down to Y=30 underwater still hurts. >.<
Not necessarily overwhelmed. I do recognize that a build may take a significant amount of time, but I've came to accept that. Just take it piece by piece, feel that sense of accomplishment when you finish a phase of construction, then move on. Try not to keep the big picture too prominent in your thoughts. Shift it to the back of your mind, save it for when you start to lose motivation. Before you know it, your project will be complete.
Oh, I get it... You're being sarcastic. I looked at that ball thing and my jaw dropped... That's an amazing half sphere you got. I'd be overwhelmed just thinking about the schematics BEFORE building it, haha.

Easy for you to say! You're build gigantic computers with redstone! Haha
I'm in the process of doing this EXACT same project on PC hehe. I started a couple weeks ago, only my sphere's diameter is 64. I know that overwhelmed feeling
Since you are the only one Ive seen doing a project like this besides myself, I wanted to ask, how do you plan on filling it up? With my sphere, I started by making the glass outline first, then one layer of stone, to about halfway up the sphere. Then I just started placing various ore in clusters, randomly, to the best of my ability. After I finish with that part of the project, I figured I would start filling the rest of the stone/dirt/gravel around the ore, then once its filled completely, start carving out a couple caves. This seemed like the best way to go about it, but I just wondered if you are doing it differently.

I would have to say quite like this to some degree, even if I haven't really done anything all that big... The walls that I built is one good example. I had in mind over all where I wanted them. Although they are almost exactly the same as Madnes64's walls, I still had to build them and have a draft in mind of how I want to go about them in the world I put them in.
As for the whole picture, like my idea of a kingdom, that must I just have a rough draft in mind holding onto that idea alone. Everything else is Section or piece at a time with also what I plan to do with each keeping the notion that I might have to change something later.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

Sometimes . . . . .
