Let me give you some background...
I tried to find a seed with a nether fortress and nether wart, so I put a seed, one I found in a youtube video, in as a creative world. When i went into the nether, I spawned on top of a nether fortress hallway. After exploring only long enough to find a blaze spawner and wart, I left the world completely and put the same seed in as a survival world. The overworld was the exact same as in the creative version. When i played long enough to get into the nether, I built the portal at the spawn point in the overworld (the same place as in creative) and the portal in the nether was seemingly in the same place as well. After some exploration in peaceful mode, I found nether wart but no blaze spawner. I returned to the creative version and found that the nether was the same (walls, position of the fortress in the the nether, islands, etc.) but the fortress was completely different. There were, I think, three blaze spawners within, I want to say, 150 blocks from the portal, give or take a few, and all out in the open. Is there anyone out there in the world that can explain why this happened, that the nether in creative is different than the nether in survival.
All I want to do is make some potions. I'm getting frustrated as this is my fourth world that may have been a waste of time trying to find a nether fortress.
Sorry for the long post but I had to give you the entire situation. If anyone can help, that would be much appreciated. Thanks.
In any worlds I have created in both survival and creative since the bug fix update, the fortress has been exactly the same in each generation of the same seed. Have you doubled checked the coordinates in the nether - first by checking a map in the creative world and then by creating a map while in the nether and checking that in your survival world?
my guess would be when first entering the nether go in on survival mode in easy, normal or hard. im not sure going in the nether in peaceful mode does the same with blaze spawners. once you have entered the nether then it has been created and if there are no blaze spawners i don't think you can change that outside of using creative or restarting the map.
The coordinates are the same. And I did go into the nether in easy first so it had been created before I used the peaceful setting. Could it just be a glitch with this one world?
I have no idea how accurate the info is but I had someone tell me that inserting structures and/or the starter chest can cause things in a world to spawn slightly different. The discussion was in reference to the exact problem you are having with a blaze spawn in creative (no chest) but wasn't there in survival (with chest). This was before the bugfix though and I can't say I saw it for myself.
