Welcome one in all to my very first Minecraft Building Contest for the Xbox 360. If your reading this then you yourself have taken the first step in entering to become the next great builder.
COMPETITION TOPIC
The topic for this competition is CASTLES!! I want to see your best castle design whether it be medieval or dwarven or something completely unique I want to see. The competition starts now February 18th 2013 4:00PM EST. All submissions for this contest must be in by March 4th 2013 4:00PM EST. Any submission made after this date WILL NOT be reviewed. Get creating!
What is this contest all about?
This contest will allow the various individuals and teams of Minecraft builders across the forum to enter there creations into a contest against other creators to duke it out (figuratively of course) and see who really is the next great creator.
How does it work?
Every three weeks I will post a new topic of creation (castles, cities, etc.) You then have two weeks to build your heart out alone or with friends and come up with your best possible creation. At the end of the two week deadline I will review ALL the submissions I receive that meet the criteria of that particular contest and narrow the selection down two three top finalists. From there a group of judges and myself will explore the three finalists creation by visiting your world. At the end of the "week of review" The panel of judges will decide the winner of the contest and the second runner up.
What do I win?
As this is currently a trial run for this contest there will not be a monetary prize. However, The winner of the contest will have a link in my signature to a thread of their creation along with a 1st place badge to display in their own signature, a spot on my personal Minecraft blog and bragging rights as the winner of that contest.
How do I enter?
Entering the contest is easy and requires no dues or entry fees. You can enter by going into your world with your creation and taking various pictures. You may send in as many pictures as you like (more is better than less) but each submission must have at least five pictures including a birds eye view, a front view, and three interior views. Again the more pictures the better. Once you've taken your pictures you can go to the MCX360: Creations section of the forum and create a thread of your creation. The title may be anything you like just make sure the pictures are included in the thread . The forum requires you to provide a description of your creation so be sure to explain what it is and other details about it. Once your thread has been created send me a personal message on the forum with a link to the thread of your creation. If you already have a thread of your creation on the forum just make sure it meets the submission requirements before sending me a link. That's it your now entered in the competition.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do NOT attempt to send me a world file of your creation! This is against the forum rules and will disqualify you from further contests
How will I know if I've won?
If you are selected to be in the top three finalists you will receive a personal message on the forum from me. In the message will be further details on the next steps.
How is the competition judged?
All submissions sent to me that meet the criteria are reviewed by me personally. To narrow down the initial submissions I will look at the following things
-Originality
-Use of Detail
-Complete Designs
-Creativity
Once the submissions have been narrowed down to the final three myself and the judges will look for the same things but in a more detailed manner.
Sorry, building competitions don't generally work out around here. You will at least need to build up a good reputation before you see interest in such a contest. It may be a good idea to copy-paste this into a .txt and save it for a later date.

I'd say being a contributing member of this forum, having two pinned threads, and a kick but minecraft player gives me all the reputation I need. As I said in the post I'm just testing out the idea. Maybe it works maybe it doesn't. However everyone is entitled to their opinion. Thanks for the thread bump =)
Don't worry guys the contest is still on. I've received a few entries so far (mostly of worlds already created before the start of the competition) but there is still plenty of time for you to enter. Just make sure your submission is in by March 4th 4:00PM EST. Read the original post for more details on how to enter.

Okay then, no reason to get so upset about it. But you never said anything about testing out the idea, though whether you are or not isn't important, so I'm not entirely sure why it was brought up. Anyways, good luck with your competition and the turnout. Have another bump.

I'm not upset in anyway. I'm sorry if I came off as snooty or upset. I'm just trying to enjoy my time here the best I can.

It's no problem, I'm just going by statistics and I mistook you for a new user due to post count. I often forget we have a lot of lurkers around here, I used to be one myself, still am at times. But user-run competitions sadly don't make it too far. Nobody likes to compete just for the prestige, unless it's hosted by a big name that has no business trying to judge anything. *cough*MACHINIMA*cough* Usually the only way to draw a decent amount of interest is to dangle something shiny in front of everyone's face. Perhaps Microsoft points or an Xbox LIVE subscription. I'm not trying to discourage you or anything, I really do hope this works out. I'm just saying it doesn't have the greatest odds of being a success, statistically. But who knows, anything could happen, hopefully you will prove me wrong.
Perhaps Microsoft points or an Xbox LIVE subscription.
That's the eventual goal if this does or does not work out I fully plan on trying again with some sort of incentive. I wonder if you can legally give away MS points without direct consent from Microsoft?

By sending someone the code on the card it's legal and everyone does it. You can't directly give someone points that are already present on your account however.
Yup, if you bought the card it's your property, you can do whatever you want with it. Even set it on fire! Not sure why you would want to... but you can! And the forum rules have changed so giveaways are perfectly "legal" unless a requirement for competing is to subscribe to some YouTube channel, +1 the OP, etc.
If the deadline for the contest was about 2-3 months later, i'd be willing to enter my one map that i've been working on in survival, but it's still 2-3 months of working 2-3 days a week (about 4-5 hours per day) from being completed.
I would enter, it looks like I would have to win if I did . Sadly I have no Xbox live.
I wouldn't be so sure, there are some pretty impressive entries. You have no way to take pictures of you builds? While its not ideal I would still accept shots of your T.V. (within reason)
Also I'd love to join if you ever have a redstone contest
I was NOT a moderator at the time he posted that. Redstone would be a good topic for the next competition. I've committed 800 Microsoft points the next one as well so keep an eye out.

Somebody's stalking me. My problem I guess is complicated. My computer is broken and my device Doesn't have a USB import of course.
Anyways when I was saying I would have to win It was because it had been a few days and I didn't see other entries, I would by default win If I was only person. It is a cool contest though, I guess needs to be publicized more.

He just became one pretty much today. I assumed he was a new member, my mistake.
Also, I was planning on a redstone competition, just haven't had the time. I made a thread out of curiosity and there seemed to be a lot of interest in it. The problem is I always find 5+ hobbies to pursue at the same time x_x
