I was planning on doing some of these myself, but since I'm lazy, I'm just going to throw the ideas out there for other users to pickup on. With these ideas, you guys can stop making boring Roleplay and Hunger game servers, and make more creative ones! Here's a few ideas for you guys to make. -Brodie
MineZ:
On PC, there are several severs with custom plug-ins and a game type called "MineZ". Well I was thinking somebody could make an Xbox version. However, this will be a bit difficult. Since you're not allowed to have plug-ins, 24.7 servers, or a whole lot of players, things will work differently.
The way you would start this is by creating a map, preferably in Creative Mode that has any style you want. It's recommended that you base it on some kind of apocalyptic wasteland that has been ravaged by zombies. You can make towns, landmarks, anything you can fit inside your map. Then, you're going to want to plant chests all around the map. Try to make these chests common, and have neutral supplies. Make the chests that are difficult to get to obtain better supplies. This all seems great, but with the Xbox version, it will take a lot of moderating. You're going to want to follow people vanished (Invisible) and refill chests. Depending on the amount of players you have, it would be wise to have VERY trustworthy friends help administrate and moderate the server with you. Sometimes, if everybody were to die or something, you could restart the server, and replenish every chest item. Also, If you haven't noticed, I'm implying to wait for TU9 for spawn eggs. That's something else too, you're going to have to manage the zombie spawning and have them in towns and in buildings during the day. Then at night, you could make the spawning more specific and spread the zombies around the area. Maybe put them in a dispenser in specific areas and pull a lever to make tons of zombies spawn in specific areas? Eh? Good idea right?
I got into as much detail as I could with that one. I'm absolutely positive all of your creative little minds could revise and find solutions to this idea, so feel free to make suggestions and try this out your own way. If you have any questions about anything, I'd be happy to help.
Trouble in Mineville (Commonly known as trouble in terrorist town):
This will also be a tad bit more complicated due to the Xbox version's complexity, but I have trust in you that you'll find a way for it to work, just as good as the last game-type.
Basically, the way this works is that there is a group of players, and the majority are innocent, which means they have to try and stay alive. At the beginning of the game, you find out if you are innocent or a traitor. The traitors must kill the innocent, but here's the twist: The innocents don't know who the traitors are. On PC, there's a plug-in to where if you're a traitor, then you know who the other traitors are as well. However, I'm not sure how this will work on the Xbox edition. Maybe if the owner (you) could send messages to the players that he (you) wants to be the traitors (make the innocent the majority), then the traitors can look into the message and look at all of the players the owner sent it to. Therefore they could just remember the players and consider them friendly. At the end, whether there are innocents or traitors left standing, the owner will announce who won. I think you and your friends could just get into a party and go from there.
If you are still confused on this game variant, I'll have you know that there are a large amount of explanations and gameplay videos of both Trouble in Mineville and Trouble in Terrorist Town. I think I'd get I'd get in trouble if I linked them, so go look them up yourself. Sorry to be crude, but I'm only trying to get my point across, and that point is the game types
Survival Arenas:
I'll admit, this idea isn't the most original, but I haven't seen a whole lot of these. These type of games are very self-explanatory too. Have fun making yours!
Think of this as Hunger Games but with hostile mobs. First you have to design an attractive, tactical, and fun arena that your friends must enter. You can design the loadouts, classes, objectives, anything you want. You also need to make specific levels of mobs and waves that you will give your friends. I'm not even sure why i'm explaining this to you. If you want, go ahead and disregard my ideas for this game type and make your own. The great thing about this game type is that it's very customizable. Have fun making your original map!
Just like the MineZ, I am ALSO IMPLYING THAT YOU WAIT FOR TU9 to make this. Spawn eggs will make this a lot more simpler, and it would be almost impossible to make a Survival Arena without them. Actually, you could probably just make your map now and then do the spawning later. Do whatever you want!
Call of Duty/ Halo/ Etc. game types
No, I don't mean camp spawn and kill your friends, or hack other people's servers, OR use OP weapons on your noob friends. What I mean is using some game types from those games and plop 'em into Minecraft!
This one is also self explanatory. Just make a team deathmatch map, or make a last man standing map, or a halo infection map, anything your adorable brain can think of!
Other server-based ideas are welcome to be posted here, so be awesome and post yours!
P.S. I don't think this should be moved to another section. It is not based on suggestions or ideas, so please do not move it. It also has nothing to do with implementing new ideas into regular Minecraft.
maybe we should all work together on something like this and get all our friends together so we can play. ive always wanted to start my own little community with minecrafters that all have different talents, but i havent been able to do it on my own. I have started a blog dedicated to Minecraft Xbox Live news and community events, but i dont think anyone is gonna want to read it or join. );

I was thinking about getting all of the popular forum people and doing something big, like making a server or something. We could also record it probably. I'd be happy to work with you, you can friend me and I guess we could do something.

That's what I mean about customization! You could do anything with it.
