Hmm ... I guess you could use hoppers now. A 3x3 wall of dispencers with buttons on. If you press the right buttons (so right items go through) the door open. I guess you have to use a sorter, but that isnt too hard. If something goes over all the sorters it hit a preasureplate and reset the try, perhaps even locking it for a few mins
will a sticky piston move a block that has redstone on it?
Nope...
OP: The easiest way would be to build a custom multi-input logic gate, controlled by levers. The idea here is to have the accumulative outputs of these levers equal to zero. In other words, they all lead to the same line which must be off to activate the output device. Invert the levers you want to be in the "on" position, and directly connect the levers you want to be in the "off" positon. Note that this makes for a terrible lock that is extremely easy to crack, unless you use at least 10 levers.
A better option is an array of RS NOR latches, with reset lines that trigger the reset inputs of greater bits sequentially. There are a million ways to do this, it allows you to use buttons as unary digits, creating a much more secure system. You can even add monostable circuits prior to the inputs to allow a combo to be entered very quickly.
Trickster, would you mind either uploading or explaining the fix... That would be great. I don't have a deep working understanding of logic gates and I have tried to build CNB's setup and have run into the exact problem you describe. I've seen other fixes but they don't seem to be compatible with the current xbox version. If you could shed some light on this I would very much appreciate it! Thanks.
Don't worry about it, there are already videos up for the fix. It's so simple that most people should be able to figure it out anyway.
I'm not sure if you saw my post and are passive aggressively calling me stupid, or what (probably not haha)... but I looked up some of the fixes and granted, I'm sure I could dig deeper, but I couldn't find one that was specifically applicable to the xbox version. I lack an intricate understanding of redstone, and again, I'm sure I could learn, but at the moment I'm not in possession of that knowledge . So when I saw this post and tricksters offer, I figured it would be a good time to gain the understanding needed to implement the fix. Perhaps it is very simple and I will feel foolish, but as of right now I don't get it. I just kinda copied and pasted the design without truly taking the time to understand how each element is functioning.

Of course not, I assure you that I meant absolutely no condescension towards you. What I should have said is that it would be simple to anyone with a basic grasp on Redstone Theory. If you don't, that doesn't mean you are unintelligent in any shape or form. It just means that it is a topic you haven't studied, for whatever reason. In the right context it's not too difficult to learn, the problem is that the majority of YouTube channels teach about this genre in the wrong way.
If you are interested in learning about the true mechanics of redstone, I have something you might like to see. The first video is for players completely new to redstone, mostly just introducing the main items and presenting an abstract definition of emission and conduction. If you're not a complete redstone n00b, feel free to skip to the second video which is slightly more technical. Also note that I was sick during that first video.

Haha, ok no worries. I actually really appreciate you providing me with the materials you have created, those should help a lot. I have been meaning to sit down and gain a basic understanding, and these videos should really help with that. Thank you very much.

i don't think there are hoppers on xbox yet
~Also in this next video he explains how to build a coder, If you don't know how to build one already.
CNB has a lot of other redstone tutorials.
Cheers.

Really? What exactly doesn't work?
