i can honestly say i've done this, during the day i make a mini forest with saplings and then at nightfall i set fire to it to watch is burn, it's a beautiful sight
I love doing this. But the residual light glow after the fire is gone drives me kind of nuts....
I like to put glowstone on fence pillars in my village, adds a nice atmosphere. I really want redstone lamps though! Also use alot of glass and sunlight for my buildings; torches at night :3
