4J says TU9 will be 1.1 with a few features brought forward. One of the features from 1.1 is beaches returning. I've got to say that i'm excited because coastlines have been ugly ever since they removed it. Anyone agree?
Beaches? I never knew such thing existed In minecraft... They must not be popular from the looks of It. All It really looks like is a dug up crater with 30% Sand - 25% Trees/Grass 55% water, Now do that math Inside of that small crater

I guess you didn't quite get it.....>< It is not the crater you are to be looking at, it is how the sand formed along the banks in comparison to the upper pic, which is a bit more interestingly done. Both are from a different version of the game.
The closest thing to a beach now is a desert border... I guess you must have started minecraft a little recently if you have not known about beaches...O_o (just a guess mind you) either way it is not the % of water ratio.
It is how the sand forms without being a desert, kinda like the florida keys have sand bars.... or any coastal area to have a bit of sandy beach somewhere....something like that. We did get those kind of things back in 1.7.3 and earlier....:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Trust me when I say this. I've been on the PC version for a very long time. Since mid Alpha at least. I was around for when the beaches went bye bye in 1.8 and I was around when Jeb promised their return in 1.1 and again in another update.
If you go back far enough in the PC forum, you'll find an endless amount of threads complaining about the beaches in 1.1. They are nothing compared to pre Adventure Update beaches. You have been warned.
Another round of pictures. These are from the wiki page on generated structures, under beaches....
O_o Those shots, well the second one almost looks like something generated from 1.8.2... I've generated something like that...><
I do have to agree with that beaches are really not that important as something like upside down stuff...
I've seen better beaches generated on the pc than that shot, if that is after beaches were added again.
Iv'e been playing since the Xbox Ver came out If that means new...Anyways I didn't notice this at all.
Every last word I said was wrong...Thank you for the correction

Before 1.8
In 1.1
Improved beaches of 1.2.4
Actually Those are satisfactory, at least there is a lot of sand...:D including sand bars and such... better than the one that you showed before at least...lol
I don't mind the shallow bits missing from them and the long extensive haul of beach that would stream before 1.8.2... It is still an upgrade compared to not having them...:D
