Personnaly i consider spawn traps cheating you just sit there gaining exp and drops infinitely you dont do any work AT ALL. I hit level 30 in about 3 MC weeks the old fashion way a bow a few arrows leather armor and a stone sword. and when its night i would climb a mountain search for glowing red eyes (spiders almost always travel with skeletons on my worlds) so i can kill them get a few more arrows daylight hits i hunt some creepers with the newly gained arrows then get meat from chickens pigs cows and then repeat.
Come on guy's, It's a sandbox game....Your supposed to find your own way of playing.
Try to be a little respectful of how others play. Were going to end up with some kind of minecraft Hitler on our hands,LOL

Try getting to level 30 purely on mining coal and taking iron out of a furnace. Takes a while....
But if you really feel like you're superior to everyone else because you spend three weeks in leather armor using a stone sword..... by all means keep thinking that.
Why do people think the mob limit is too low? It's the same as the PC version which is 80 mobs. This is high if you know how to make an effective spawn trap. Yeah, it takes many hours or even days worth of work to light up cave systems, and the ground at the surface, but it's well worth it when you watch many mobs fall into your trap It is definitely possible to get lvl 30 in under 1 minute and at most, I'd say 1min 30sec. You just have to know how spawning and spawn traps work.
using setup with a zombie spawner and it take me roughly 20-23 mins to get to 30
seems slower than other times, am i doing something wrong? is there a better/faster method?
don't think any are dying in the tube or the fall
which blaze farm setup is best to use?
It's just the Xbox's limitations, not everything will work as efficietntly as it does on PC, this is the most we can work with for now. Also, for some reason, XP seems to disappear if there is a large mass in a single area so we don't get all the levels we deserved.

That is due to the fact that there is a entity limit of (I think) 250. After the limit is reached whatever entity is the oldest will instantly despawn. This can be tested with a chest in creative and fill it with stacks of 64 and break it but you will not get everything back though.

If that's the problem, I think it could simply be solved if 4J gave us an option to toggle animal spawning. It'd help out a lot.

the mob cap isn't really the problem. The main problem that mostly affects most of the games limitations is how chunk memory is handled which is why we can have smooth drop in-out of co-op and multiplayer
I have a few ways to get XP in my survival world, thy are ordered from slowest to fastest time ot get to level 30:
1. Caving gives XP and there are tons of unexplored caves still near my world's stronghold. - a few hours
2. Lots of unlit surface around my bases - a few hours
3. I have some set up, they are more for collecting drops but I get XP using them - ~ 1hr
4. Zombie spawner w fall damage for 1 hit kills. Slow, I built it for potatoes and carrots and to heal zombie villagers at some point - ~10min
5. Big spider spawner mainly used for spider eyes ~10min
6. Single Blaze farm with no crusher, using stone swords. Glitches and I have to walk away and come back to get more to spawn ~5min
7. Endermen show up at my potato farm in The End (a heavily revised enderman farm using ideas from the JL/Docm design) ~2min

And to anyone saying that is cheating, you have no idea the materials and time and effort it take to build a blaze farm in the nether.
Right, Or any other farm for that matter! I have spent up to 10+ hours working on one killer farm And i deserve the rewards it drops!
People don't understand when it comes to xp farms it takes a lot and in mean a LOT of work! It's like there saying that all the work we did was cheating, Or that we should not be proud of it???
People that say xp farms are cheating, Or something not to be proud of must have no idea how to make them, and/or how they work, And/or how much work it takes to make one!
1 hour of work for me would be like 4 hours or work for someone that is against farming.- Think about it!
Just jealous kids wishing they could do what we can!
BTW, I'm against driving in real life, So if you drive then your a cheater!! -That was a joke in case there are some slow people out there.
Didn't notice they agreed to end the argument way before I posted before, oops. Anyway, on topic, I use Ethos Blaze xp farm. Well, at least I used too, before I made a new world. Just be ready for some heavy time investment as well as an intermediate knowledge of Redstone, especially concerning SR Latches.(RS Nor) Otherwise, if you screw it up, (Like I did) you won't be able to fix it...
Not sure exactly how long it takes to get to level 30 but it isn't very long at all.

Um ...
Which is what started off the whole mess in here.
What's your point? Why are you quoting something from a completely different thread here, out of context, which has nothing to do with this topic?
You might also want to look up the definition of semantics. Whilst we're on the topic of it.

this semi auto mob grinder, when used properly, can get you up to lvl 30 in about a half hour.
MINECRAFT
Mine- An excavation in the earth for extracting coal or other minerals.
Craft- An activity involving skill in making things by hand.
There is nothing wrong with building a spawner which is pretty much the entire point of the game (Or 50% of it, lol).
