So just wondering how long it takes you guys to get to lvl 30?
My world has never been on creative or had host options on, Its as legit as a world get's.
I have 3 mob farms in my survival world And they look good(i got board)....
1. Is a suicide booth that drops every mob that can spawn on the surface of the overworld. i get no xp from it, but i do get to watch them all fall to there death and get a lot of loot + ender pearls. The endermen live though,And that's good because i can kill them with a looting 3 sword(1 hit) and get more ender pearls.
2. Is a blaze xp farm, gets lvl 30 in about 12 minutes. I also get a lot of glowstone dust and blaze rods from them to.
3. Is my new best one. I get to lvl 30 in about 7-9 minutes and i get a lot of gun powder. took me for ever to build and a lot and i mean a lot of materials. I only get creepers, skeletons, and zombies in this one, And i get a lot of them. Still got a little work, Hoping to make it a 5 minutes to lvl 30 one day soon.
And yes i still hunt, Would be dumb not to have these. They give me a insane amount of stuff for TNT and all the other drops. Would take days to get the amount i get in minutes by hunting alone, So this gives me way more time to build!!
So what do you guys got? How fast do you get to 30?
Passive mobs are spawning like crazy in my world. It takes me about 45 minutes to get to level thirty just by running around the world killing the wild critters. My dungeon spawners are a little faster. My blaze spawner is probably the fastest I have (abt 15 - 20 minutes); but I often slow things up by messing about just chucking snowballs at them.
I made something similar near a skeleton spawn. hostile mobs fall in a 1x8 hallway surrounded with obsidian. The skeletons shoot at me but kill the creepers, and I get music discs.
I made an enclosure around a blaze spawner and enjoy killing them. Usually get level 30 exp in about 10-15 min
I have multiple ways to collect XP
1.) Zombie/Skele trap- 10 mins
2.) Blaze XP farm- 2-3 mins
3.)Mining adventures- 2 Hrs
4.)Fishing- Forever
5.)Breeding- Never
Firstly, please learn the meaning of legitimate - I suggest a site like dictionary.com. I mean this in the nicest way possible; but by definition and popular agreement, using creative is not illegitimate.
I've got a word for you to look up: "context". Words take on different meanings depending on the context they are used in. Did you actually misunderstand what the OP meant when he said "legitimate', or do you just like arguing semantics for no reason?

You deserve a high-five, good sir. I don't ever log on, but when I do, it's because of cool dudes like you.
As for leveling to 30, eh, takes me forever. I almost never make xp farms, so all of my precious green orbs come from the mobs I meet randomly or the redstone I mine (redstone gives quite a bit, and srsly, it's EVERYWHERES).
So like 40 minutes or so if I'm playing rigorously. I'm not much of an enchanter :/
triple spider spawner nothing fancy all spawners so close lvl 30 in under 7 mins found seed in creative (searched for birch trees nether fortress, end portal, blazes and nether warts, found the spawners under village in abandoned mineshaft
I'm able to hit lvl 30 in under a minute using a flushing mob trap I averaged it, and it's about 6-7 lvl 30 enchantments in 8 minutes!
I'm calling BS on that one. My 3erd one is a flushing trap/mob's on demand and i get the mob limit very fast.
The xbox can only handle so many mob's unfortunately.
So 30 in under a min is Imposable!! Even if you afk for a hour and let them build up...
I would have to say as of now that 5-10 minutes would be the fastest possible because of the mob limit.

I must agree. The mob limit is pretty small and I believe that even if you kill all the mobs within the capacity at the same time, you still won't get level 30.
10-15 mins for me got a zombie and skele spawner that are right next to each other so i built a hole filled the rooms with water to get them down and they all come to the same killing area. i found these when i was strip mining however only one of the dungeons had chests.and what wasin it was virtually useless
Personnaly i consider spawn traps cheating you just sit there gaining exp and drops infinitely you dont do any work AT ALL. I hit level 30 in about 3 MC weeks the old fashion way a bow a few arrows leather armor and a stone sword. and when its night i would climb a mountain search for glowing red eyes (spiders almost always travel with skeletons on my worlds) so i can kill them get a few more arrows daylight hits i hunt some creepers with the newly gained arrows then get meat from chickens pigs cows and then repeat.

How exactly is funneling enemies to specific point, cheating? It's one of the oldest strategies in the book. Hell, they made the movie, 300 based on that exact principle.
If it's good enough for the Spartans, it's good enough for me.

Get off your high horse.
I wouldn't call It Cheating But Its nothing to be proud of. There's no work Involve "stated" Unlimited Items "stated" Hunting down mobs also test the skills of your survival gameplay. Who am I to judge though? Its only an opinion

You can get off your high horse, also. If you think there's some sort of "honor code" to playing this game, don't force it on the rest of us.
If someone were to put a block that spawns infinite enemies on my front porch in real life, but there was a benefit to keeping it around... I'd find a way to block it off to take advantage of it, too.
