I just made a pickaxe, with silk touch, right? I go straight to the snowy biome near my house, to get some ice blocks, and poof, water. took out the block under, and nothing.
Glitch or did they forget to make ice affected by silk touch? anybody else have this happen to them?
Any light source will melt ice if it is close enough. You can light up an ice construction, it just needs to be big enough for the light source to be about 3 blocks away from ice blocks.
Gives you the ore from mining with redstone, coal lapis and diamond. Also, it gives you grass blocks that will automatically have grass on it when it's placed and amongst other things.
Glass, not the glass panes but the glass blocks. It mines blocks as they are seen. Well most of them...useless for vegetation and ones that you would normally get the block from normal mining, which you mind as well use a normal one anyhow.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I thought Mojang fixed it on the PC back in 1.1ish that silk touch no longer gets ice blocks? So perhaps 4J went straight to that in the Xbox version?
Havent played PC in some time, I do hope that they didnt change this. Ice blocks were the only reason I liked silk touch at all.
On a side note, I would love to be able to mine a mob spawner with silk touch and be able to replace the spawner at a different location to help with my mob traps/xp farms.

Will never be possible. I wish 4J would have let us pick them up and let it be a pig spawner but sadly that will never be.

i can get monsters in a cage, but they despawn...
Or you could do creative mode. But, what's the fun in that?
Not necessarily. Creative mode allows you to place all the ice blocks you want.

Quite possible. As it was never able to grab ice in the xbox edition. More likely though it just wasn't implemented into the coding yet...
