Ok ......so today I was building a rail road across my world from my town to my tree house when I got to a point where I was being attacked by something, it was taking 1/2 to 1 heart per attack wearing full iron armor ,but there was nothing there so I thought I remembered somewhere on this forum something about invisible mobs, so I pulled out my Diamond enchanted sword and completely FREAKED OUT swinging at anything and everything........ but nothing ,so I though oh maybe a skeleton hiding in the shade since it was daytime but there was none to be found and I headed back to where I left off with the rail and Whack ! again and again until I just decided to keep going with rail and say forget you to the "_______" " ?????
so what the heck was going on? anyone? .......anyone?........... Bueller?........... anyone?

Mobs can be invisible, but I suspect... wait, were you playing on Live?Because if you were it is probably your friend trolling you while he was using the invisibility Host option.I noticed you said "Bueller" is this some reference I don't understand or is that a name of one of your friends?

were you going through a 1 block wide, 2 block tall tunnel that had sharp right angle bends? i've noticed that you can take accidental suffocation damage from that. otherwise, have no idea.
FYI Woolfman, it was a reference to Ferris Bueller's Day Off, an iconic 80's movie.
I even checked to make sure no one was on my game by pulling up the name list
and I must be getting old if I think Ferris Bueller's day off still has funny lines
so my next question is are they supposed to be invisible ,if so why couldnt I kill it and why has it not happened before?
Okay, so it wasn't on live so it wasn't trolling. My best guess is that some hostile mob (probably a skeleton) became invisible for some unknown reason and was shooting you from under a tree. I say this because:
1. Skeletons make no noise except when hit
2. He must've been under a tree so he wouldn't burn (as skeletons don't move around very much)
3. It was on Live so it wasn't someone else
4. I don't believe Herobrine is invisible
Ooh, but there is a hole in my theory; when you got hit in the tunnel. I don't know how that would have happened except maybe with DMSiafu's theory of you taking block suffocation damage whilst going through a tight tunnel.
actually i doubt this has anything to do with it but the other day i was mining building my slime farm. i was mining a 1 wide 3 block tall tunnel and all the sudden i jus died. i dont mine straight above me and didnt touch lava. it was weird cuz the shape of a T took up my screen so i culdnt tell wat happened. anyways lol if this dont relate open the tunnels wider haha thats my theory
Yeah,it had to be a invisible mobs. There are no real ghosts in minecraft. This isn't paranormal activity. If I were you next time save and leave then return. If it still happens then swith to peaceful. If it STILL happens then.... *Runs out of room*.
