so i found a spawner and got the chest. inside was some redstone, wheat, COCOA BEANS, and a few other things. what i am wondering is what is the use for coca beans are they just bragging rights or something. or are they actually usefull

make cookies by crafting them with wheat

they are also used to dye a sheep brown, which atm is kinda pointless because as soon as you shear it, the wool won't grow back

but if you breed two brown sheep, you can essentially get an endless supply (albeit slow) of brown wool.

i think i would stick with the cookies because i can get brown wool without the cocoa beans

Yes you can, but right now since we can't grow them... cocoa beans are limited. Cookies have one use.
Two brown sheep can be bred and provide you with an infinite source of wool without needing to search for them.

but but when has there ever been a need for brown wool

I make bear skin rugs with it. Like this:






Lay it down like carpet in the floor.
(Had to use black. Brown isn't even in the icon list. LOL)

am i the only one seeing the irony about Urban_Blackbear needing to use black wool to make a bearskin rug?

Well coco beans are very useful for cookies, but they get better when the update with jungles come. You will be able to plant them on jungle wood and watch them grow. Break it, get more, repeat. Such a wonderful thing.

Farming cocoa beens did not come with Jungles. The ability to farm them came many updates later.

Only 4J knows whether or not we will be able to farm cocoa beans in the next update.

im sure they will try to add it because then cocoa beans would really be complained about and im sure they dont want to deal with everyone complaining

As of now, hoard them.
Brown sheep can be found and bred and cookies have essentially no value in a pure survival world....

that seems like the smartest thing to do so i will probably just do that. but with the new update i will probably start a new updated world so yeah

That is exactly what I do. lol I find those beans and I hide them in my secret chest away from fellow minecrafters.. Wait.. you didn't hear or see anything.

Based on the "cookies or brown sheep"statements above, I dont see many people complaining

i like the larger version. it looks better but probably will just use black wool
