I would use wheat to lure two mooshrooms back to my house and fence them in to I could have a farm. I would also make giant mushrooms, using bonemeal, and make a small little house in it.
I lured two mooshrooms back to my main base to start a farm. After that, moved a mooshroom to each area that is used often and set up little feeding stations, using a dispenser and pressure plate to pop a wooden bowl into your hands as you step up trapped mooshroom. Just have to hold the left trigger to fill the bowl and drink, repeat as needed. Also put up signs reminding friends to put dirty dishes back in the dispenser after. Best source of free food when your stationary for a while.
When I find a Mushroom island if it's close by land, build a house there so it won't have to be on the Mycelium sorry I just don't like it and build a nice bridge to it and have a nice house for the Mooshroom Cows and have about 2 double chests full of Mushroom Stew.
Now when it's quite a way from land either make a cozy mushroom house on the Mushroom island OR buid a 3 height and 2 width tunnel all the way to land leading into my epic mansion - Hint hint - or simple house and eventually create a minecart railway back and forth!
Now that's what I do when I find a Mushroom Island!

That is not the point... I am use to the pc mooshroom biomes. Mobs don't spawn on them. I can't figure if that is a glitch/bug or was intended as no one really answered that from 4J.
I think I recall 4JSteve saying it was a bug to be fixed in future TU. You're right, mobs aren't supposed to spawn on them.
Use the mooshrooms for mushroom stew and continue on my way lol, bring back a mooshroom or two for unlimited food but other than that i dont do anything with them currently
