I just have a quick (probably stupid) question about whether or not my existing world will be updated and get a jungle Biome and all that it entails when TU9 comes out, or will it simply be newly generated worlds that get the jungle biome implemented?
Well i've made certain to already explore the entire map so that's a fail . . I do have an End portal though I made sure I had that before I chose the world. Is there no other way to get a jungle biome except undiscovered map?
Yes. Just start a new world and explore it when the update comes or wait a while after the update and check the "TU9 Seeds Thread" when one gets created and try to find a seed someone found that meets your qualifications. I'm pretty sure Strongholds and Nether Fortresses are a sure thing to generate in new worlds but for other structures its randomly generated, just a thing to point out.

I don't want to start a new world though that's what my original post was about. I am asking if my CURRENT world that already exists will get the biome implemented into it after the update comes. Starting a new world is not an option lol, I have accomplished too much in this world.
Nope even thought some people have ideas for this to be implanted(spelled wrong?)
the word is spelled right, just not the right word...lol
Implemented... Just like the on thing 4J has mentioned a possibility of resetting the nether, that means only a chance that they may add. No guarantee that it will happen. Like this person said there has been an awful lot of ideas floating around here and there for rediscovering land. Just like so many other ideas...
When it does come out I know I will just have another map I have to flesh out, since I like keeping my old maps and continue to work on them as is. Some things you will be able to do in those old worlds and some things you will not. Things like breeding I was able to at least do that in my oldest one, as well enchanting... but could not do brewing as there was no fortress then either. I will never visit the end on that world due to the fact it never even had a stronghold then either, no map did back then. I do have other maps now that I can tango with those features, and will always go back to my old ones and do what I am able..:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
This does bring to light a good idea thou. The PC has a tool that allows you to 'delete' or 'purge' chunks that have been loaded but not built on. It would be nice if there was such a tool existed for our 360 MC.
Better yet after each update the game asked for each map we loaded that was a previous version if it would a 'purge' preformed on that map. Basically its just a matter of comparing chunk data for the seeds and if its unchanged from your map to a new seed then it would 'delete' that chunk.

I like this idea as long as its an option and not automatic. Like Tamorr said above, I keep my old worlds and sometimes load them, but for me, its when I want to show something to friends. However, my favorite map completely went Ice Age. Unfortunately it autosaved before it started snowing. I was miffed for weeks. (I know, I know I said I'd quit whining about it)
I start a new world to see the new features, but would prefer my hard work not get trashed by an update. The Purge Unexplored Chunk ideas sounds like a good one.

Please actually read posts before responding, so you don't end up looking stewped.
4J have not promised any resetting map options for TU9. They have only said that they are looking into resetting the nether for a "future update." I think it's most likely that it will not be in TU9. 4J have not said that they are looking into any options for resetting portions of the overworld, even though the community has been pressuring them for it. So, if this is ever implemented, it will likely be many, many months away yet.
TU9 will probably handle the addition of jungles in much the same way as previous updates have handled other biome additions.
I never once said 4j said that they were looking into map resetting options, i was merely making a suggestion as ways for people to keep their existing maps and getting some new stuff.
If haven't already realized by now many many many people are sick of loosing their old maps, and are getting put off by having to remake maps each and every update. This would be a great solution to keep them happy.
I never meant to lead people into thinking this was something 4j was adding.

Don't sweat it. I was just responding to the OP. I am sure 4J knows that a lot of people don't like making new maps with each update. If you read back through the PC forums over the same series of updates, PC users also had many issues with the climate changing and the added terrain no blending very well with the old terrain. Yes, they could always find an unexplored area of their map; but it did not resolve all the issues for them. The basic way in which the game generates from seeds seems to be the root cause of these issues. When ANVIL was brought in on the PC, it did make it possible for better blending of old and new terrain and, somehow, made biomes more editable (REF: Wiki on Anvil File Format - "Biomes are saved per X,Z column, which means they can be altered by tools; this is very useful for map makers.") So, the switch to ANVIL may or may not help solve the climate change issues on the XBox. IDK. We'll just have to wait to see if something does happen a little differently this time round. I am pretty sure, though, that is it not going to suddenly mean that jungles could be added to every old map (which is what I thought the OP was asking about).
