Technically you were never supposed to pick them up. This is supposed to happen.
You need silk touch to be able to pick them up if you want them.
actually that is only half true...
Would be nice to have certain things you do not need silk touch for... Never said anywhere far as I know that they were suppose to be this way or that way... That was one of the things I was glad about that you could do before the update... And now I need to waste my time trying to get a silk touch to ensure I don't mess up placing them... Glass itself I can understand. Panes well, they should have just made it so only pickaxe of stone or higher can reclaim them. There is already so much that you can silk touch in the game. Doesn't need to be a ONLY option. This is just my opinion....

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I have a bug that I have lost connection to my own game. I had; 6 People in party, 3 People in game until 1 person left, and lost connection after being killed by Skeleton, please reply what might be wrong.
There is an invisibility glitch, My friend, his little brother and I were playing survival with PVP off. I was in a cave when my friend's little brother came down and shot me with a bow & arrow. After coming out of the cave I told my friend to turn around so I could show him something, when he did he couldn't see me. His little brother shot him and then he turned invisible. Has this happen to anyone else?
while in the minecraft menus you can turn music and sfx down and not hear music or gameplay. while settings are down, go in your menus and chests or anything with item slots and move your selections anywhere. you will hear a loud thungk noise, almost everything you do makes this loud noise and you cant turn it off. make an interface sound level or disabled check list, i hate the noise its almost louder then the game
Not sure this has been reported or not but still getting a weird replacement bug. We use water ALOT, but not really how you think, what we do is generally find an island that is kinda in the corner of the map, expand it to around 50 by 50 and shape it so it kinda looks natural. Next we begin pushing back surrounding land by sinking the nearby land so that its 1 level below the sea, we do this so that no matter where we are on our island its at least 128 blocks to the nearest land. This prevents hostile spawns near us, and sets up the first phase for our efficient mob spawners.
Next we 'raise' any sea so that its 1 level deep everywhere, this makes hollowing out under alot easier, and traversing the water easier as well. This is where it gets weird. We do this raise with dirt, there are 4 of us so while the task its tedious, its light weight and goes pretty fast. Now if we look around all we see is a nice clean dirt floor ocean. Save and exit, reload and many many many places are replaced with patches of sand/clay. There are new lily pads where there never was, and trees growing where there wasn't.
Now if you find some 'resources' under where this replacement takes place, mine them and replace with 'stone', when the game does this replacement it will replace that stone with the resource that you mined, you can 'duplicate' diamonds this way very easily, or any other resource you want. Replace the sand it put again with dirt, and the replacement will take place again.
I hope this makes since I can easily show this in my map if needed. We've tested it multiple times in various different chunks. At first we thought it only happened at the edge of the map but this isn't true.
I'm not sure if its a glitch or not,but when me and my friend are breeding some wolfs the stop listen to us and wont follow us anywhere. Only 1 of my wolf that had escaped and was in front of the house would listen.
Like so many others I would imagine, I do have problems with animals despawning from a small area. I know someone said it was 20 block roam they will, but this is not the case.
I have a fenced in area that has 8x8 walking area, the fence is all along the 9x9, and this is quite a bit less than 20 steps. Although I can see sometimes the animals walking around in a circle, so that may cause it, but very unsure.
It has nothing to do with animals glitching through fence, since that only happens when saving and exiting and reentering the game. In that case the wandering animal I just lure back into the fenced in area through a gate. Of course it is mainly a red cow that does it, every time I have lured a newly spawned one into that fenced in area it eventually despawns. This was happening even before this current patch...
Ironically I have been always able to keep at least 1 of each different type in this pen. I have a dewooled sheep and the red cow. I keep trying to put just 1 more red cow in there, but it just does the above thing eventually.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Minecraft Xbox 360 edition is not worth playing anymore. Iron tools are equal to stone in durability and damage, so there is no longer a point in using iron. Player 1 in split screen wins PVP every single time no matter how well armed player 2 is, only if they are constantly attacking each other. Minecraft Xbox was the only version worth paying for, and these last few updates have completely ruined it for me. Unless all of these problems are addressed, you will have a few less people playing the game. I think I'm gonna go back to shooter games until the next update. Worst two updates probably in the history of minecraft. Ever since the 1.8.2 update, it has gone downhill from there. I can barely have fun with the damn game anymore. Sometimes, you drown even though you are in an air pocket with no bubbles being displayed on your HUD. Unless you have the best of stuff, easy is just as brutal as hard. It's like peaceful is the only playable difficulty unless you have the best of weapons. This is comming from someone who played on hard until this update. Now I can only play on peaceful. Blazes do WAY too much damage, you need a looting sword to get anything out of ghasts, yeah, this is definitely the worst update in the history of minecraft. 4J would have to TRY to make an update worse than this. I have never enjoyed a game less than this. PLEASE ADDRESS THESE PROBLEMS. Everything that was good was taken away by this update.
Also, more bugs. Zombie Pigmen take way more hits than they should. I had a level 30 sword with sharpness 4, and it took four hits to kill the damn thing. They can spawn mad if you have been in the nether for long enough. There have been times where it was like the game was purposely throwing everything it could at you to kill you. PVP is impossible because the game lags all the time. Also, when you are in water, cobblestone looks too much like diamond ore. I don't even care about the features that are being added unless the bugs are fixed.
One 'bug' isn't mentioned. Although not a bug as much, more of an annoyance, is the passive mobs spawning on the 1x1 block spaces of cliffs.
This is sooooo frustrating. Some are too high to hit with a bow (and arrow), and they take up the mob limit.
Maybe this can be looked at for a future update?
The mob spawning is just completely borked. There's really no point to breeding since they raised the spawn rate (back in TU6?). I have areas with 0 passive mobs, then wander over a hill to find them SWARMING everywhere.
Not sure if it is a glitch but mooshrooms don't spawn on mycelium placed in creative mode
I really hope they fix this. It'd be nice to transplant areas of mycelium with silk touch and have them spawn mooshrooms. One cool idea I thought of would be to turn regular cows into mushrooms if exposed to mycelium for a long period of time.

it is sad that every update brings its fair share of problems. its not those problems that get me, there expected. what gets me is restarting now at least 10 times to get all the features and then we get to do it again and again and again and again.........again.................again................again

I'm fairly sure it's based on the total area available for the animals to walk, not just in one single direction. In other words, your 8x8 area is 64 blocks of walking area, which is way more than 20. I've not had animals despawn from pens that have an area less than 20.
So I've been playing Minecraft non stop for the last few weeks! Love it, of course there are always tihngs that can be fixed or updated, but honestly no compliants thus far except..............
the last few times I've logged back into my world, the castle that I've built the stone bricks have turned into dirt and gravel. I've replaced the changed bricks with stone and saved and logged out and logged back in they were changed back to dirt. and its the same bricks each time. There is about 70 bricks this affects. Now just so you know, my castle is ontop of the water and right up againist what i assume would be the edge of the map. I've only built it up 3 stories about 7 bricks high is each story. I'm not sure why but it would be nice to not have to keep taking the time and resources to replace these bricks.
Otherwise, I have noticed that sometimes when i destory a brick it does appear again. But other than that its all good.

Thanks for your help in this matter
So, an 8x8 pen should work and stop animals from despawning. In an 8x8 pen, the animal cannot move more than 20 blocks in any direction.
