When a certain player doesn't have the right to open doors, they can still open them using RT instead of LT unless I disable their building and mining rights.
Almost positive sheep don't regrow wool. (really irritating)
Replicable for the past couple versions, but haven't gotten around to a full research pass until today.
Repro:
1. Start Minecraft: XBox360 Edition.
2. Create a new world.
3. Get map from inventory and note spawn point.
4. Quit without saving.
5. Load the new world again.
Expected behaviour:
Spawn point is at or near the same location.
Actual result:
Spawn point is altered to near X:0, Z:0.
Specific example:
Use world seed "Alain" (without quotes) and enable the "Bonus chest" option.
Locate bonus chest at X:-389, Y:66, Z:131.
Quit without saving and reload world.
Swim to surface and get map from inventory.
Return to X:-389, Y:66, Z:131 to confirm bonus chest still there.
Workaround:
When quitting a world without saving on first load, check the seed, then delete and recreate the world to get the correct initial spawn point (near the bonus chest if enabled).
The existence of a workaround probably means this bug will never be fixed.
Some new glitches today, including the "cannot sleep because monsters are nearby"...even though I am 3 stories up in a castle and I continuously check the area and find no monsters (although I can hear Zombies groaning relentlessly).
Also there are items that I chop, but then cannot pick up. Example, I tried to change a painting and after 3 tries, I could no longer pick it up. Lost my painting.
I made some potions today, added glowstone dust and it did increase potency, but then when I added redstone dust, it reverted back to original strength but did give me the extended time. Note: I am fairly noobish to potions, so I could be overlooking something)
I apologize if these were posted earlier or elsewhere, don't mean to be redundant.
Sorry just jumping on board with minecraft, just using TU8 and can't get the villagers to use any type of housing I build. Driving me nuts, is this a known bug?
Probably not a bug - villagers can't open doors. So if they're in a house with a door, they can't come out unless you open the door, and if they're outside they can't go in if there's a door. You may be able to work around this with pressure plates on the door, but chances are good that since they can't open the door, they won't path through them either.
I haven't checked this extensively, but when I open doors for them the villagers don't seem to head in that direction; I'm given to understand that villagers "want" to go outside in the day and inside at night, but I've never observed this behaviour. It seems like this behaviour will be added when they can open doors, which is in the PC version and should come in a future update to the Xbox.
There's a lot of confusing guidance out there about how to do certain things, which is written in the expectation that you're using the PC version (since it used to be all there was). Meanwhile, the Xbox is several releases behind the PC, but catching up fast. Once they reach feature-parity, which I expect to happen within the year, this problem will MOSTLY disappear.

If you can hear them, they're nearby.

It's a painting, dude. Wood and wool are cheap. Just make a new one.
Of course, if it's something more dear, that might not be a workable fix.
This appears to be caused by the object's pickup zone landing "between" blocks - a tiny little math rounding error, possibly a platform limitation that can't be helped. If you drop some dirt on top of the item, this will often cause the game to adjust its position so you can pick it up again. If that doesn't work, you may be able to mine out the blocks near it and pick it up.
I made some potions today, added glowstone dust and it did increase potency, but then when I added redstone dust, it reverted back to original strength but did give me the extended time. Note: I am fairly noobish to potions, so I could be overlooking something)
This is normal, as I understand it - you can't have glowstone potency AND redstone extension on the same potion. Check the potion page on the wiki:
Graphics glitch gates can be placed sideways when attached to fences
Sheep seem to be able to escape from fenced in areas no matter the fence height
Cows and pigs seem to gather near the corners of fenced in areas causing graphics glitches
Sitcky pistons get stuck when trying to move a block through snow
Not sure if it is a glitch but mooshrooms don't spawn on mycelium placed in creative mode
Actually no it is not a glitch or bug. Mooshrooms will "ONLY" spawn in the Mooshroom biome. The grass block has nothing to do with it. You can convert an entire mooshroom island to regular grass and still have mooshrooms spawn. If it doesn't work in survival, why would you think it would work in creative? O_o
The second thing I bolded I have seen pigs actually head towards fence no matter what for some reason. Not sure about cows, but I do know that animals are attracted to fences which like mentioned causes that build up graphics glitch. Granted it is not as severe as before the patch, but still there...

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Sorry just jumping on board with minecraft, just using TU8 and can't get the villagers to use any type of housing I build. Driving me nuts, is this a known bug?
This is a bug. Squidwards should have it in them to stay in their original villages but they tend to just spawn in the village, and then just wander. If they worked the way they should, they would go to a house. A house would be any player built or naturally generated structure with a door and two blocks touching it. They don't work like they should, so they are not attracted to houses, and they just randomly wander. Also, they all look the same. Once the world is generated and you kill one, that's it. They don't respawn. Also, I'm kinda irritated with Minecraft Xbox because me and my brother had a world and on that world we could not have built a portal in a better place because it spawned on a ledge that had the entrance to a fortress. I'm agitated because the world is basically corrupt because of the portal glitch and I'm even more agitated because I heard that this was not going to be patched until march, maybe April. The least they could do is patch these bugs in the next few weeks and not with the end.
Not sure if this is a bug or not, but Efficiency tools aren't as fast on the Xbox as they are on the PC. The comparison isn't even close. Test it for yourself!
This has been happening to me in tu7 and again in tu8. While underground if you put your back against a fence post that is being used as a support for the wooden planks in a an abandoned mineshaft and then save and quit. When you reload the world you spawn on the next available vertical space that can occupy the player form straight up. This means if there is no caves or caverns then you will be instantly ported to the surface. if your under an body of water then you will be spawning at the bottom of that body of water.

Mooshrooms should spawn on mycelium not just in the biome the other land animals spawn from grass no matter where it is placed mycelium should function the same way for mooshrooms it doesn't make sense
Also found another glitch experience orbs can fall through ice
I have noticed mooshrooms seem to spend more time in water then they do in their biome they just wander out into the ocean half the time they die or disappear not sure which
No one seems to have listed the problem with Host Option only not working. If you create a world on easy survival with the host option flagged you cant fly and the game saves/loads state that you have used creative mode. I dont think this is the way it is supposed to work. Can someone confirm this?

Villagers dont interact yet. They wander about aimlessly.

Does your castle have a flat roof? Did mobs spawn on top?
I have a 10w x 10d x5h room with double wooden doors (because cows didnt go through a single door) that glitches cows to the outside world by the doors. They can appear 3 cows length outside before going back inside the room. The walls are made out of dirt.

not sure about this but my villagers still cant open doors their clueless about them lol
Not a bug/glitch.... It is just their AI has not been worked on yet. Right now they are just wandering lemmings. Their AI will improve I am sure in the next update, or I would hope they improve it among other things...
In a way we are following the pc nicely up to where we will split off. The PC people went through the same thing when they first got villagers... One reason I know it is not a bug, just not something that was put in yet....

Yes, this is the way it is supposed to work, although I personally feel the wording the message "created in creative mode" is unclear. The reason why it changes is because using host privileges in survival mode disables the leaderboards and achievements the same way that using creative mode does. The message was put there to alert players that anything they do in that world is not going towards the leaderboards and they will not be able to get achievements in that world.
I could have sworn you guys fixed this? Or it was never even an issue before. After TU8 though, this happens in every world I generate. It's not annoying or anything, it can just be confusing at times.
found a major bug while hosting a hunger games. it deals with host options. if you are falling and double tap A mid-fall, you will receive fall damage as if you had just hit the ground. brought myself down to half a heart when it happened.

Lighting Bug. Messed up shadows.
But yeah it is a bug in a sense, even if a minor one. And yeah I agree it does get confusing at times...><
