I have a map 1/4 covered with ice and the map ironically freezes upon loading after 30 seconds. This issue presesnted itself when I updated from TU6 to TU7 and in TU8 the map still freezes. Upon loading the map it loads only 1 chunk and the actual map that you xan hold is completely blank. PLEASE FIX this bug and fix it! My friends and I spent way too much placing ice and ever since this bug it seemed like it was all for nothing.
Any idea why your map is oriented kitty corner to the screen? it doesn't even look like an Xbox screenshot.
ETA: If the photo is legit and not some photoshop creation, then I would say your world save file is corrupted and you will have to start a new world. File corruption still happens on computers... less frequently now than when I first started working on one (when the PC was first developed). In this respect, the Xbox is very much a "computer." The best strategy is still to back up all your filesaves.
4j you may have the xbox communitee fooled you dont have me fooled for one secound..
I know other people are scratching their heads to and wondering as well
with each update my world became more of an ice world, with the last update all the bottons droped off the glow stone I used to mark the tracks with. now the signs say awaiting approval and go balnk I really thank you for that one... why do the signs have to be reapproved every time on load they were already approved dingus. most of them have arrows with an exit or city names.
so pretty much every thing 4j has said about the updates effecting the biomes and things with in old the worlds is "dis information"
by the way great job on the lag can I have a little more please it is still not over the top yet I want to get to the point of smashing my Xbox and 60 flat screen when I play minecraft.
"my first world is is almost trash but still not there yet" can you help to get it there please. how about a kill script that detect old worlds and begs for 4000 ms points to have it back the way it wasor you delete and search all attached memory devices deleting the backup copies
you should add a image recognition system to identify items in the xbox minecraft worlds that resemble copy righted items or world wonders and trash those worlds as well.
there was one person whos world you screwed the poch on he had managed to set up note blocks to play a classical tune from mozart maybe we can get ASCAP or the RIAA involved as well next on the note blocks. we never got his world to load again, to much red stone or some thing.
you really want to screw the people here do like EA does make it so you cant move the save or back it up one copy only when your map is corrupt or goes bad your done as well, and as long as we are going there go maxas Sims and set a time line and limit..
Do I sound even remotely angry, I see alot of people that jsut start a new seed every few days then there are the ones like us who spend months at the maps I did not even use a seed I let the wheel spin and let the cards fall were them may. I can even use my world seed number over again now to generate my world back. I used my world seed number with the - and all and got crap.
I have set back and watched the changes, you say you cant change the biome, but you can sure change it to ice and knock the bottons off the wall, and mess my signs up add magma cubes, take things away and so on.
while moding is allowed in the pc version and there are all ckinds of plug ins for the pc version. you make the xbox version more restricted while adding new items were are the ocelots. I know I wont get any in my old world map
@'UpUp_Away95' now as to your comment may be he used his cell phone the take the picture and put it on his page, I dont even know how to put screen shot it to a social network.... so I send it to youtube

Not only is it oriented differently than a map being held by a player in the game; there are also no coordinates displayed on the "map" and no paper map edge of any kind. It just doesn't look like any photo of a screen produced by MCXBLA. Although a "bug" might account for it, I'm personally very suspicious that it may have been drawn/generated by hand in another program.
Regarding weather changes... none of them have been permanent (i.e. they have changed and changed again with each subsequent update). In addition, the newer biomes have not been snowy biomes... making it increasingly likely that the new weather over any given area of an old map will not be snow. If it has stopped actually snowing over a biome, all that is needed to correct the issue is to shovel the snow on the ground once and break the ice in the water once. The area will then look as it did before it started snowing there.
From what I can see, a blanket "fix" for old worlds would break with the seed/terrain generation integrity the game is currently based on. As you are well aware, the game relies on the seed string to generate terrain using the "current" formula in whatever version you're in. If it were to be able to regenerate old worlds, seed strings that were usable in those old versions would have to be made invalid in the new version. As it is, I can use seed string "404" today. It will generate a different world than it did in version 1.6.6; but it will generate a world.
While the workaround I'm suggesting is not ideal, it is at least a viable possibility. I'm sure, after months of being incessantly badgered, 4J know all too well that people are unhappy with this situation and they are trying to fix the problem through programming as best they can. They are, however, human beings and may be able to only do so much.
What 4j is doing is updating with what happens or did happen in the pc version. All they did was make it to where it works on the 360 just like it did for the pc. The only difference is a few things brought forward or not updated yet cause of conflicts of the coding. Every single problem you are talking about is by design or an issue that is a result of the porting of the pc version to the xbox version. So i will list according to what i know.
First off glowstone has a base form like glass. It cannot be attached to anything by default. So that means your buttons/switches/rails and such wont stick like it used to. In the pc version at this time it was just like that. You cant blame 4j for that as it was by design that mojang did. http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Glowstone This page says that in 1.0.0 it was changed back into glass and as we all know for the most part that you cant attach items to glass.
Next The signs having to be verified all the time. Ill bet that if you use words that are allowed by xbox live services then you wont have to have that happen all the time. If your getting it along with lag then you also may need to check your connection as a moderate connection as personally caused issues with signs in my own world as well. Again not the fault of 4j and definitely not the fault of mojang as this is a feature that xbox has in their system. If you want to blame someone then call microsoft cause they made it happen. Here is their tweet about the sign issues. https://twitter.com/4JStudios/status/204673181582237697
Next Biomes. Every time there is a change to the world generator. The seeds change according to the format of the generator. Each version had this issue in the pc version and i see this all the time with the xbox version. Yes its annoying how my perfect worlds turn into frozen wastes or my frozen world turned into a desert trashland but 4j still has a chance to work it and they are working to make an option to revert to old biomes as per this tweet. https://twitter.com/4JStudios/status/289318988591296513
Worlds that have a lot of redstone actions such as the worlds with music setups with over 1000 note blocks need memory to function. Remember that the more redstone ticks that happen or block updates that happen the more data is used in turn more memory hence the crashes. If you have a million things running at the same time that means a million different things that are taking up memory which can cause lag and or crashes. TBH if this happens maybe its not worth having a complex system just to open a door is needed or in this case having a world that is a noteblock musical.
If your smart then start saving backups of your worlds in steps. Like what i do. At the end of every day of working on a world i will save a copy on a memory card of the work so if something were to go wrong i can still revert back to the previous day and work what i can to the point of crash. If i find a crash that is always the same in every attempt then i post it but to this day i have not cause i dont push it beyond the limits of the system. Personally i feel its impossible to do so unless modding is done but that is against xbox live TOS and the TOU.
As for the ocelots https://twitter.com/4JStudios/status/301985775732531200 Be patient for them. Also what new mobs added can be seen in old worlds. tu9 has mob eggs and with them comes a chance for ocelots as well. Just spawn yourself some eggs and then make some ocelots for any and all your worlds including the old ones.
ALSO! If i remember correctly and i may be wrong here but ocelots at the start were bugged in the pc version so im sure 4j is going to prevent any problems with them in the xbox version by putting a hold on them to make sure they are not bugged. Keep in mind that the so called bugs in the pc versions were easy to fix cause they were in java code. Bugs found in the xbox version have to found in java first and if they cant be found there then they have to find it in the porting code from java to the stuff used in the xbox version. By the time they find it then they can fix it and an update can be made. But with the fact that xbox has to require a cert testing for everything they cant just throw an update up cause it would overwhelm the xbox testers and would also set every other game back just to update. If your looking for stuff that the pc version has then you have to wait for it to out cause it takes time to make sure the game does not kill your 360. Unless you want to pay up $200-$300 every time you find a system crashing bug.
As for seed generation. As i said above when the world generator changes over the different versions so do the seeds. Yes you will never get the layout today that you got in the first version but that is cause the generator has changed over time and added some code and taken from it. I would love to have my *granddragon* seed back from tu3 as it was awesome for me. I loved its layout and how it worked for me but because i deleted it on accident i will never get it back. Again as noted above. There will be a chance to revert back to an old world but getting that version is virtually impossible without modding the 360 and the world generator feature.
As for modding. XBOX LIVE TOS and TOU says absolutely ***NO*** modding is allowed for any game for any reason. This is to create fair games and equal rights along with a defined security of your account information and making sure that all copywritten rights are secured. Minecraft for the 360 will not see this unless 4j makes it happen with a setting in the game. SO with this said the only chance for any type of *mods* you will see will most likely be addons or part of an update to the game.
Now that 4j showing off that they can add to the pc version with what was shown in a recent screenshot with one of the pylon towers being blocked by iron fences and the dragon having acid breath we get to have a chance to have personal items added into the game by just suggesting them. Im sure that some of the custom items made by modders for the pc version such as new types of weapons or armor or items such as the stuff in buildcraft or redpower will be added to function as they do in the pc version. Again it takes time for this stuff and as i said before patience is needed here.
I have a couple that you may have missed, sometime after the creative update, placing two doors next to each other and adding 2 pressure plates causes one of the doors to remain open untill the user steps on the corresponding pressure plate, almost like it was inverted. I have no known fix for this, and it is quite annoying. Another bug I have noticed is when you place 3 dispensers in a row, put a repeater behind the middle dispenser, filling them all with unique items, and adding dust and a lever behind the repeater, causes all three dispensers to fire upon each signal the dispenser recieves. Finally I have another annoying bug to report, when you smelt cobblestone, and turn four stone into stone bricks, those stone bricks attract silverfish stone and spawn randomly around the stone blocks. This is very confusing as this does not happen on the PC version of the game, and my friends have also experianced this problem. I Fear this may all be mistakes made by 4J but bug one and two have remained thoughout several updates.

I don't understand what you mean by the stone bricks attracting the silver fish...O_o
Also the pressure plate thing I have never had it work that way. It has always been like that inverted way far as I can remember. Also noticeable in many of the older let's play series as well. There is a way to make it so both doors open and close roughly at the same time with either pressure plate. That just requires some redstone stuff though.
That is a good one that works.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
When a swamp generates at the edge of the world, it has a change that the water spreads out the border and lilypads spawn on them.
An End Portal generated on the edge of the world, the Eye of Ender tries to get out the border. I could not find it, even with the X-Ray glitch.
1) Yes. The game code allows for biomes to spread beyond the invisible border. Since swamps are currently the only biome with an alternate water texture they are the most obvious.
2) Unfortunately that can happen as well. I scout new seeds in Creative first to make sure they have the essentials, then reload the seed as a survival map.
Also the pressure plate thing I have never had it work that way. It has always been like that inverted way far as I can remember.
Confirmed. Ive had MCX360e since release and double doors have always acted this way. A code fix should be out soon but a simple rs device fixes it now.
Another bug I have noticed is when you place 3 dispensers in a row, put a repeater behind the middle dispenser, filling them all with unique items, and adding dust and a lever behind the repeater, causes all three dispensers to fire upon each signal the dispenser recieves.
This happens because the other two dispensers are receiving a block update from the repeater. Fix this by placing a block directly behind each dispenser instead. Energize the blocks using alternating lines of rs wire and repeaters to avoid cross-signaling. Place a dot of rs wire On Top of the block powered by the repeater only. It should look like this (view from top):
wire-wire-wire-block-dispenser
repeater-repeater-repeater-block(with rs on top)-dispenser
wire-wire-wire-block-dispenser
etc.
EDIT - This post is revised from an earlier one where I described a schematic that didnt work. If you read that version, Ignore it. This one works.
Was watching a youtuber video today and the flame-arrow-no-XP happened to him as well, so this seems to also be present on the pc. If there's consistency Im fine with it.
Okay I lied!!
Not really, Im just an idiot. The aforementioned video was old. A more recent video (Zisteau's Inferno Mines LP specificly) shows XP dropping from mobs when they burn from flame bows. So Im bumping this back up to bug status. But seriouly 4J, no rush. Ive already resigned myself to "fine with it" status. . . for now.
Finally I have another annoying bug to report, when you smelt cobblestone, and turn four stone into stone bricks, those stone bricks attract silverfish stone and spawn randomly around the stone blocks.
As others have said, I don't quite understand what you mean here, but I did wonder if perhaps the cobblestone you originally smelted is actually silverfish cobblestone ...

This is very confusing as this does not happen on the PC version of the game, and my friends have also experianced this problem.
According to the Wiki, silverfish do become attracted by normal cobblestone, stone, and stone brick blocks; and if in the area may enter them and convert those blocks into Monster Eggs. Are you perhaps doing this smelting and/or crafting inside a stronghold or in an extreme hills biome?
"When a Silverfish is not pursuing the player, the Silverfish will go to the nearest stone, cobblestone, or stone brick and go inside it, converting the block into a Monster Egg. When mined, the spawned Silverfish will have full health."
. . . perhaps the cobblestone you originally smelted is actually silverfish cobblestone ...
Can that even be done?? I dont think you can Silk Touck silverfish blocks. I agree with UpupAway - maybe the blocks are becoming "infested" with sf. In one map my base is built out of a stronghold and I had to systematically remove all the sf blocks because they would ruin my new construction.
First off glowstone has a base form like glass. It cannot be attached to anything by default. So that means your buttons/switches/rails and such wont stick like it used to.
RESPONCE : update were not supose to effect older worlds if you cant have the new things in the the old worlds then they should not effect the old worlds like they have.
Next The signs having to be verified all the time. Ill bet that if you use words that are allowed by xbox live services then you wont have to have that happen all the time.
RESPONCE : words, like troll, dark relm, R.I.P. Exit here, Exit Left, Danger, Lava and ====> and box items names, proceed up are not vulgur . these words should not need reappoval....
If your getting it along with lag then you also may need to check your connection as a moderate connection as personally caused issues with signs in my own world as well.
RESPONCE : sorry open nat. play off line get lag as well on maps try again not only one complaining about this.
I bet it has to do with red stone load in the map and red stone device load
Next Biomes.
RESPONCE : yes lets talk biomes gone bad that turned to ice after updates, or the fact that you get magna cubes and no blaze spawer, they could have updateded the old worlds with one blaze spawner at least. Or the fact that if you build a ender portal in an old world with creative it will never work. way to sh#^ can peoples work and leave them behind. need proof make a back up then go in to creative dig down create and ender portal. take and eye ender and try to use it to locate the portal. the old maps were excluded from the update!!!!!!!...
They can make the bottons fall off glow stone, they can turn maps to ice, They can slow down pistions enough to make cobble stone generators garbage to use and if they are used the causing enormuse lag. they can diasable sand generators and wool mill's they can give lava life. igloos are not in the sprite of mine craft so now you have to put your torchs on the ground
I have a bug to report, I was messing around with repeaters and dispensers today, and noticed that if you place a dispenser down, lay a repeater and dust behind it, and place a lever behind that, it can only trigger the dispenser if the repeater is on a delay of 3. This is quite disapointing as if you have multiple repeaters in a redstone line it can delay the signal quite a bit.
I also encountered a lack of netherwart in the nether, and its inability to grow outside of the nether. Not sure if the second part would be considered a bug. Snow golems also possess the ability to glitch through solid blocks. Most of the time they slingshot back inside, but every once in a while, they escape.

Did you read my response to your previous post? It might help with your current issue.
Every update will affect every map regardless of when it was made. You are not correct when you assumed they shouldnt. As far as new features not appearing in old worlds: they can, but only in newly loaded chunks. If you explored most/all the map it is not likely you will find new features. The code does not allow for things to be "inserted" into already loaded chunks. This means 4J can't just "give" you a blaze spawner. Sorry, but they can't.
However other changes, such as the biome code and block tags (how the block reacts to tools, the environment, etc.) work differently. Each time you load a save file the game will use the current version. This means when it loads glowstone it now has the property of glass, not stone, and your buttons fall off. Otherwise they would need to have two seperate glowstone blocks. . . you can see the confusion that would cause.
I hope this helps you understand why your old maps are the way they are and why its not a simple fix.
this is a video that shows a bug with red stone. repeaters stay powered when not supposed to or power won't go thru them at all it makes Redstone megabuilds impossible
Forgive me if this has been covered before, but I just noticed it last night. I was out harvesting when I got distracted, and decided to go caving. I quickly filled my inventory, and junked what I was willing to sacrifice. I still needed to pick up ONE LAST ITEM, I had 4 blocks of light gray wool and 24 string. No problem then! Crafted string to white wool, converted all my bone to bone meal, and tried to dye the light gray wool white. It appears the only wool that can be dyed white is white. (Useful right???)
Its never come up before as an issue for me, and I doubt many other people go about trying to dye colored wool white, so I thought I would share.

Confirmed. Ive had MCX360e since release and double doors have always acted this way. A code fix should be out soon but a simple rs device fixes it now.
Ive already resigned myself to "fine with it" status. . . for now.
As others have said, I don't quite understand what you mean here, but I did wonder if perhaps the cobblestone you originally smelted is actually silverfish cobblestone ...
When mined, the spawned Silverfish will have full health."
http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Monster_Egg
Can that even be done?? I dont think you can Silk Touck silverfish blocks. I agree with UpupAway - maybe the blocks are becoming "infested" with sf. In one map my base is built out of a stronghold and I had to systematically remove all the sf blocks because they would ruin my new construction.

Its never come up before as an issue for me, and I doubt many other people go about trying to dye colored wool white, so I thought I would share.
