When you have a mob grinder for drops, why do you not get XP from them dying from fall damage? You are wrong, do some tests, look it up, etc.
I believe the player pushing them from a cliff makes physical contact with the mob. This causes the push to count even though the push does no actual damage to the mob's health.
You must damage the mob (I never said it had to be with a weapon) within 5 seconds of its death to recieve XP. You said push. When I see that I imagine you walking into them until they fall. If you hit one off of a cliff and it falls to its death, you will get XP. NOT if it just falls to its death and takes no damage directly from you.
1. Um, I can test it out on creative but, no, you don't start falling instantly. The momentum will allow you to fly up. As for the trajectory and distance, I have no clue. I'd say it depends on the track, and maybe what you have in the minecart (furnace, e.g., player, etc.)
2. Don't you have to pick up the orbs to get the xp...?
3. Gold armor looks cool, haha. I think it's just for the aesthetic value of being in gold...
4. I thought slimes only spawn in the deep levels!? I've personally never seen a slime spawn above ground.
5. Villagers spawn?? I made myself a house next to a village before and I've never seen a villager spawn randomly in there. It would be cool, if they did.
6. Yes, I think so.
7. I've been playing MC on pc+xbox for two years and I've never used an enchantment table... What a disgrace...
8. Luck of the draw. If you hate jumping on dirt to get the random branches you can try burn it like I do.
9. I despise Enderman... As far as I know they're immune but maybe not anymore??
10. No ways, I've had skellis stalk me way out far. Also NPC's go out into water too, randomly.
I tested the pushing versus hitting an animal off a cliff thing last night. Just pushing one to it's death does not yield xp orbs. You have to actually do damage to them first.

7. The bottom enchantment always being the highest was added in 1.3, so it is not on the Xbox yet.
Given that enchantments were pulled forward from 1.3 into this version, you clearly don't know what you're talking about.
The bottom enchantment on the PC is generally the highest value one - it says so right on the box what level of enchantment it will be. On the Xbox, it's the middle one. The misconception seems to be that there's some way to game the system and get better enchantments by picking a particular one ... you can't. It's random. The position doesn't matter, but if you want the best chance of getting high level/multiple enchantments, pick the highest level one - which is clearly displayed in the box. I've never seen it not be the middle one on the Xbox.
I have to weigh in on the pushing/damaging mobs aspect. I know just pushing mobs off the edge doesn't give experience, but I'm pretty sure the amount of time to get experience between the player damaging a mob and the mob's death is royally messed up in the 360 version. I've smacked a mob off a cliff and not gotten any experience, even though they dropped only for about a single second before dying. And it happens all the time and with all sorts of mobs.

6. Boots only take fall damage

9. It was always impossible to hit an enderman with a projectile, even if they are trapped in a 1x1x3 box.
Also, here is an awesome suggestion I had: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1745550-biome-effects/

Interesting. Thanks for testing it out.
