Has anyone noticed that the enchanted tools on Xbox are much slower than they are on the PC? I have an Unbreaking III, Efficiency IV shovel and it doesn't just tear through sand like it should. Why is this? Are they going to fix it?
I didn't notice any difference 'cause I don't play on the PC much, but if there's a difference, maybe it's because the PC and Xbox versions are quite far from each other.
So as new updates come, enchanted tools on the Xbox may get better.
I've noticed a very slight change as well. On the PC version, the enchanted shovel just goes absolutely crazy and tears through dirt and sand like it's nothing. On the Xbox, it's a tiny bit slower, probably because of the limitations of the Xbox compared to PC, or probably because it might get faster in a later update.
Efficiency on the PC removes the delay between mining blocks when the tool has enough speed to insta-break. Xbox still has the delay, I believe. Will probably get changed in the future.
I'm gonna take a guess and say that it's possible the Xbox 360 just can't process that fast with Minecraft.
4J may have imposed a limit on how fast you can break blocks to help keep the game stable.
If so, then that's too bad. I get waaaaay better fps on the Xbox than I do on the PC, which is partly why I abandoned playing on the PC. It seems like Xbox would be able to process it better than PC, so that answer really doesn't make sense. Either way, the change is HUGE. I could save so much time if it was as fast as it should be. Hopefully it does get fixed.

PCs are way better than an Xbox 360. So PCs win everytime when it comes to things like processing speed.
The Xbox 360 is almost 8 years old. In technology years (sort of like Dog years), it might as well be an extinct dinosaur. Its custom hardware drags it down so much. Any PC made in the past probably 5 years could easily run circles around the Xbox 360.
I'm just saying, my PC is a piece of crap, and it can still render the speed of enchanted tools. I don't see why they would have to limit it in any way on the Xbox. Sure, the Xbox is old, but it can do many great things in the way of processing images.
Seems like a rather petty complaint to me. I mean, we must be talking about mere milliseconds of difference most of the time.
It IS possible that, in the last bug fix, 4J opted to decrease the framerate a little bit in order to avoid some of the recent complaints about lag in the game.
I guess what I'm saying is that it's not the time it takes to actually mine one block that's different; it's the time between mining blocks that's delayed.

Could be a little lag happening then.
I think 4J are between a rock and a hard place when it comes to graphics lag in the game. The Xbox technology is old and slow and RAM is limited. Running Live also likely eats up some of the processing and RAM. Slowing the game down can help smooth the lag out a bit, but then the overall game runs slower. Leaving the fps up causes the game to spike over and then the fps drops at those moments... and each update adds things that demand more RAM and more processing power. What needs to be done is an improvement in processor power and RAM... but, unlike a PC where the player can go out a just buy a better graphics card and add in some RAM, Xbox users are stuck with what they've got.

It actually wouldn't be able to process what the PC can do nearly as fast as Xbox has like 500 MB of RAM or something and the PC has a lot more. Xbox is only faster because of its limitations.

Haha, it would be kinda funny if someone got a modded control just for use with Minecraft.
