It definitely seems like they have gotten sneakier. They even hide behind trees in broad daylight watching you until you least expect it.
I love luring them over to a hole that another Creeper blew up and trapping them; then you stand up on the edge and practice your archery skills.
Bonus if you manage to make it blow up in the hole and there are a bunch of animals in with it.....dinner time!

sounds like the other thing I do with them, beyond leading them to a watering hold. Except I actually do hit n run tactics with a sword. High ground makes for a better target to hit...lol

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Sometimes I could SWEAR the game spawns them right behind me.
I mean, I have laid out a perfectly level area as far as the eye can see... I wheel around and see absolutely nothing.... and I open up a menu, and one second later.... "PFT! Sssssssssssssss!!!"
Isn't fun that such a simple creature in a game can cause so much turmoil.. Great design and functionality.. Go Creepers !!!
I must admit one of the ingenious things about Creepers is that they destroy what you've worked hard to build, adding a new dimension of dread that is quite appropriate to a game focused on building.
This is nothing, lol. I currently reside on a massive "plate" above the ground with a ladder down and a tunnel leading to my arena. Well, I was playing around on easy, and I saw some Enderman greifing above my tunnel. I went down to fix it, and BOOM! Creeper bomb. I survive with three hearts left. I walk forward one step to grab some of the cobble the creeper didn't blow up and BOOM! Another Creeper bomb. No clue how I did it, but I survived. Only to get bombed a THIRD time and finally die.
All mobs had a health increase. I think it was in the Tu7 but don't quote me on that.
Damn those creepers!
Does anyone else see the irony... between this thread discussing how creepers being deadlier now than before and the thread discussing how hard isn't hard enough claiming that the aggro mobs have been nerfed?
