Back after 1.8, I made up a creative-based world for my kids to play in. I built a couple of small villages, but the highlight was a viking village in a medium size taiga.
One of my complaints with the map was that the taiga backed right up to a extreme mountains biome and it never looked right that the forest lowlands were covered in snow while the highlands were always clear.
Enter 1.9 and another round of biome shift and low-and-behold, the extreme mountains have shifted to tundra... Ergo, I now have a pretty realistic representation of the norwegian coast. (or the more extreme parts of Skyrim).
Now, if 4J would figure the way to deliver the nether reset function, this would be an almost perfect map (the stronghold in this map got mauled by a ravine.).
Well, you know what they say: "Make hay while the sun shines"... or while the snow falls, as this case might be. Even if the climate warms up again in a later update, as long as you don't disturb the snow on the ground, it won't melt.
