Can someone explain the idea of servers on MC360, 4J thinks it would really help the game. What will it improve, visuals, gameplay, efficiency overall...? Will it increase world size...?how will it better the game overall, if so, why haven't we gotten it yet?someone please answer these question,or at least explain something.
If 4J could some how come up with servers for Minecraft, it would allow them to increase world size. The reason being that it would a;;ow them to remove the server client from the Xbox and put it onto an offsite server. That would free up RAM and processing for the actual game to use.
The reason we don't have it yet is because it's extremely expensive to run servers and I'm betting 4J doesn't have the money to do it themselves. They've been discussing options with Microsoft, but right now, nothing is set in stone.
Someone else Is gonna come by and give you full detail on why not, But I know one of the reasons Is needed space.
The RAM for the game is very small, And Servers would some what lag the game. The size of the map is another story. Thats where RAM is needed, Which MC has very small amount of on the 360

Thank you for that detailed explaination, your a legend
I know one thing for sure, I'm not paying for a server like BF3...This game has been out for over 8 months and there's still no multiplayer. Ffs 4J, Sort your priority's out...
There is plenty of multiplayer. It's just that 4J made the multiplayer require a friends list or friends of friends in order to play. They did this to combat griefing which would have run rampant on the Xbox 360 Edition without it, and sadly still does.
5 Million copies and rising doesn't seem like it hurt the game at all. Their main priority is to get the game update to 1.2.3 or whatever and then focus on everything else.
