Hey there, I recently just made an account here because I'm having an issue and don't know what to do.
So, I recently installed the latest update for the Xbox 360 Edition of Minecraft, which I believe is 1.3.1, and every time I try entering The Nether my xbox freezes and I have to restart my console. Now, the xbox only freezes when I try entering The Nether. I have tried clearing the cache, restarting my xbox and then trying it again but it froze again. I have also tried deleting the game itself, re-installing and then attempting to go into The Nether again only to end up with the same result. Is anyone else having this issue? Does anyone know how to fix this? I put so much time into my world it would be a waste to start from scratch..
I had this issue just a few minutes ago. It worked fine this morning and yesterday, but this evening it started up. I hope it gets fixed soon since I really want to go fight some blazes and level up.
I think I've replied to this topic 2 or 3 times now. Just make a new portal about 50 blocks away from the original in the over world, go into the nether, and find your portal, and re activate it/unblock it.

I just tried this and it still freezes. I put it between 75 to 100 blocks away and it still freezes like before. All it does is say Entering Nether and no loading bar appears. Then it just freezes and the xbox freezes too.

Ouch, you may need to create a new world then man :/

I hope so too. I am involved in building a 100 x 100 pyramid and could use some enchanted pick axes, shovels, which I normally get from killing blazes. If I have to I will switch to killing the overworld creatures. I am going to add this to the bug update list that 4J has and see if they have any ideas.
I am able to get back into the nether. I did nothing so I have no idea how it happend. Actually I did one thing, but I doubt it fixed it. I ran through the portal one time, but didnt stop to go into the nether.
I had the same problem earlier, but for some reason my xbox only froze when i had it set to offline game. I backed out of the game and selected "online match" and "invite only" so no one would bother me, and it worked. I dont know what online settings would have to do with it, but it worked. I hope this helps anyone with the same problem.
Happened to me to today, I bet when they fixed the Nether Stronghold not appearing sometimes, it caused this bug. Now they need a fix for this bug fix bug.
All I know is it fixed for me randomly and works just fine again. I have no idea why or if it really was me running through the nether portal without going in. Thankfully it works and I can kill those blazes again.
It seems some of the portals causing the issue are now working correctly while others are causing this again.

SOLUTION:
I have had this problem happen to me multiple (different) times on the same map and have found a fix for the solution. Have someone on another xbox join your game. Have them go into your nether portal. They will have the same problem, freeze, and need to restart the game/xbox. Have them rejoin again, and they'll spawn in the nether, which will load it, allowing you to enter. I've tried this 3 times, and each time has worked for me. Best of luck!
PS: I was upset when this first happened to me as i had a blaze grinder set up, and a huge base and feared of needing to make a new game. Thank goodness this works for me!
Good thing I haven't updated my Minecraft 360 yet. This sounds like a devastating bug. I'm still enjoying making wild wolf puppies. If I was to take my xbox to my friend's house and update it, I would be in pretty bad shape, seeing as the netherworld fix requires an online connection (I don't have internet at home). Guess I'll keep TU7 until TU9 comes. (I was gonna update but not now haha)
I don't know if it'll work for everyone, but I tried switching my game from offline to online (with invite only), and I was able to get in and then out with no problem (it's funny though, as soon as I entered the Nether I was immediatley hit by 3 Ghast projectiles).
I wouldn't recommend saving in the Nether though, you never know if you wont be able to get out (or maybe you could if you let yourself die in the nether, but then you might not be able to get your stuff back).
I was able to fix my portal by doing the following:
I created a new portal far away from my original... Like across the map actually. I placed it in an NPC village
I then entered the Nether successfully in the new portal. I left, saved my game and proceeded to head back to my castle.
I then destroyed my original Nether portal and moved it about 5 blocks away and rebuilt it. I saved my game then entered the Nether and it worked! I saw my old portal 5 blocks away from my new portal... Strange bug but that's what solved it for me.
Hi! I have had this problem too. What I found that fixed it was letting a friend (Online only) Go into the portal first. Their xbox will freeze, but when they turn it back on and join you're game they'll be in the nether. You can then enter the portal and reach the nether without freezing your xbox 360! Tell me if it worked for you!
And it's super easy and does not involve removing you're current nether portal! Piggy <3 REMEMBER TO SAVE YOU'RE GAME FIRST!

EDIT: Nevermind I just retried it and it crashed.
