help with nether fortress

I have looked all over in my world in the nether. Does every world have a fortress and spawner or did I waste my time with this world

If it was made after the recent update/patch, it should have a fortress.

If it was made when fortresses came out, then it is possible to not have one.

Any other older map will not have one no matter what.

As far as the spawner, it should have one when you find the fortress, and should have wart, but seems like a small % of maps are not getting wart.
