started a new world after the update and i have no sound, same with an old world. opening doors, chopping blocks, mobs all no sound. i can play the music and when you go into the inventory you get the sound for picking items but no natural world sound. i looked around to see if they had added some volume control but don't know what's wrong. HELP.

:"Help & Options" - "Settings" - "Audio" There are separate slide bars for Music and Sound. Sounds like your Sound slidebar has reset itself to 0. This would be a new twist on old problem of the graphics settings resetting to 0.
i did check that it was at 100%. i did drop it to 50% to see if that made a difference but it didn't. put it back up to 100% still nothing. the music i have set at 10% and it is clear and easy to hear.

Hmmm... interesting. My sound and music are both working fine. I wonder if it's now got something to do with your TV or hook up to the TV. Are you using a HD TV? If so, are you hooked in with HDMI or RGB component cables?
its an HDTV. the cable channels work fine and played some Black Ops 2 and that works then tried my triton earphones and the same results with all. no regular world sounds just music and interface clicks. tried cutting music off to but that didn't help.
problem fixed. i still dont know what happened but i cut off and unplugged everything left it off for an hour and plugged everything back in and it works now. thanks for the input.

also tried reseting everything to default settings... nothing

All I can suggest is backup your games and try re-downloading the game....
