Just checked the seed and he may be right, where the nether wart SHOULD be it is not. If everyone knows the room that is square with a dot of lava in the middle of it, where his room is, where the stairs leading up to that room should be, there is no stairs, that room just cuts off right at the top of the stairs and everything below that is GONE, really to bad as well, cause there is double blaze spawer really close by as well and almost next to each other.
seriously?! it is suppose to be near that? Never really seen one close to one of those, although I have see that room connect long pathways that connected to the entrance of the wart staircase. I am having the same problem as he in my own world... since it didn't have a fortress in the first place. Now it does and well literally at the edge of the map snug against the bedrock unlike what the fortress did before. That much is a bonus, but If there is wart on mine it is like what I said about his, burried deep and out of sight.
Mine though is PumpkinPatchInOctober spelt just like that. Unsure where it is, but if near that room then I haven't a clue...><

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
My map is the same FORTYTWO! had everything pre update including netherwart, now since the update the fortress location has moved and now no nethrwart!
Well, Congrats 4J, this was the one fix that 99% of people wanted fixed and you managed to screw it up. I was very happy with your company up until now. How did you manage to miss this and still post about it being fixed. I'm really disappointed that instead of taking a few more days to fix this, you would release it the way it is and just lie to your customers.
Correct. Your seed has no Netherwart. Live with it, or make another world.
Just to try, I've made six worlds after the update and all of them have had Netherwart and at least a single Blaze Spawner.
not so easy, but simple enough. I did find another world suitable to play in that has a decent looking fortress along with 2 areas of netherwart back to back, and 2 spawners. this only took a variation of one of my other inputed names. Although I am not too happy with the world, it will do for now.:D

It can be really difficult to track down an fix multiple layers of an issue... which I suspect this is. They have fixed an issue with the frequency of generation of the nether fortress itself and they probably did test the fix repeatedly and encountered no problems. These sorts of multilayered problems happen frequently enough with software that people should understand by now that it's impossible to test a program to a point where you're 100% certain of a 100% fix. They test a fix a certain number of times, and if the issue doesn't emerge then make the "assumption" (statistically) that it has been fixed. Sometimes it just means they havent found the actual "trigger" for the event. If they waited to test everything to 100% certainty, updates would never ever ever get released...and we all would still be playing pickup sticks out on the sidewalk rather than these sorts of elaborate computer games in the comfort of our livingrooms.

While I agree with you, they do say that it FORCES it to spawn. So where is it?

Obviously, there is still a bug somewhere that hasn't been fixed. In time, they'll find, squish it, and all will be right with the world.
Keep it in Cert Testing would have done nothing by the way. Cert Testing is to make sure the update doesn't break or conflict with anything on your Xbox 360. They do not actually check the content of the patch as far as I am aware.
Yes, and it probably does... the unaswered question is perhaps "What is the trigger that is despawning it after it spawns."
That is an excellent question, and I believe I have the answer. I was searching seeds the other day and the fortress had a hallway that went into the bedrock and I could see into the abyss. I think the fortress may be spawning first, then the bedrock is being placed around the edge and cutting off the fortress. I don't know why it didn't cut it off in that one case, but I believe this is probably what is happening.

actually no. If that were the case the the several rooms I found on the border would have been cut, or totally filled with bedrock. This did not happen. The fortress looks like it spawned last. As in the bedrock was cut away to make room for the edge of the rooms. Like the simple junction room that I seem to find along the border where bedrock is. The 3 by 4 entrance that normally would have ackward jutting out bedrock was actually completely flat, as if cut into.
There must be another reason, as like you mine didn't have any room that holds the wart. It had that lava well room, but only had long passages running from it. But in my case I didn't want to dig to much in one direction, so it is possible for me that it is burried, which I doubt since there isn't much pathway surround it. I don't think the lava room has much to do with the nether wart, as all it is is the same size and just a variation of the nether wart room, which has a staircase. Now in my new world I created that room was connected to 2 wart rooms in a row.
I don't know what is going on, but simply something did.
Hopefully it can be found as that is like not so very promising to see...><

I don't know whats going on, but it doesn't seem like they tested it all that much. If there are 3 seeds just on this thread with no netherwart, think about how many other seeds don't have it.
The only thing I could suggest, unless you have already done this, is recreate the map on creative and go into the nether and blow it up all over the place. There is a good chance you may have missed something nether fortress. I know I had my map for some time and thought I had found all of the netherfortress and then I found more. Also, as dumb as it sounds you might want to recreate the map again and see if something clicks. Not saying it will, but if you really love that overworld you might as well try.
I wish that were the problem, I've spent about 2 hours going in all directions and they all dead-end. I've tried digging and blowing up the netherack and still found nothing. The room that netherwart spawns in is pretty big and it would be hard to miss it. The room is just completely missing, but there are 2 blaze spawners near each other.
What may be happening is, Maybe the nether fortress generates the nether warts, and then another room generates where the nether warts should be? In effect, deleting the nether warts.

That would be like blowing up your chance to find any if that was the case knowing how explosive creepers and tnt are...--_--
I actually was looking in creative on a recreated map of the one I used before the patch. Although I might go into more looking around digging more as that is the best way to find anything. tnt has a tendancy to blow up what you are looking for sometimes... I have done a lot of breaking blocks throughout the fortress trying to see behind walls and no avail...>< Guess I'll do some more on that map, however I doubt I will find it. Still a chance yes, but doubtful. At least in logic sense in the way the fortress creates itself. Just don't want to waste my time too long as I have already on several attempts.

hmm... could be it however I would think that would be found in coding pretty easily... hmm... still a possibility although unlikely...

This post amused me. You sound like an ungratful child. Game develpomemt isn't easy if you think it is try it yourself. Stop complaining and just make a new world or if you care so much what it looks like just give yourself the netherwart.

You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
As a computer programmer, I would have thought there is an easy solution to all these problems that are occuring. There should be a final check box at the end of the generation programme that searched the small map( because we all know its not infinite) for these blocks. If the check programme doesnt find something, then get the world to regenerate that missing point and at the end of the fix the check programme starts from the beginning of the check list to ensure it wasnt over written. Yes it will probably slow the creation of the world but we would know all the worlds have everything.

I'm convinced most people think they you just walk over to a computer, punch a few keys, and you've fixed the problem.
