The gravity one is the best, but! you have to light up the unlit caves. At first will only be a couple mobs a minute after you light up caves that mob output will explode

Check it out for awesome tutorials and constant content!
Gravity is the way to go! I get a constant flow of mobs even endermen. Get's me stacks of gunpowder and enderpearls and every other drop fast for my needs. Took awhile to build seeing as its my survival world.
Just make sure to lite all the caves within a 140 radius, the more caves you lite up the more mob's you'll get.
Picking a corner of the map makes things a lot easier. That's what i did at least .
there are many video tutorials on utube. you can also build it over the ocean to reduce the amount of caves to light up. I recently built my first one in the middle of my map at my main base. the fall shaft is 22 blocks and that kills about 30% of the mobs the rest are one hit kills. should have made the fall maybe 20 blocks. i only get zombies, creepers and skeletons. the endermen don't come down but i can hear them and the shaft is only 2 blocks wide by 1 deep so spiders don't fit and they just stay up there.

You can build up now at the base to shorten the drop to 20. I did this when I converted my mob drop trap to get music discs. It had an original drop of 28 blocks and was a true "grinder" and I raised the base by adding a second floor to my hunting house and plugging off the bottom of the shaft. The drop is 22 blocks now and pretty much all the mobs survive it and I kill them with one hit from a sword (or allow the skeletons to fire at me to kill the creepers in the trap with them). I wonder why your 22-block is killing 30% of them and mine isn't?

the way i have it built i'm guessing they are taking some fall damage (maybe half a heart) from one of the higher levels in the grinder then falling to the bottom after being washed towards the hole by water
How about you be more productive and fair by hunting in the open instead?
Little harsh, don't you think. We each play the game our own way. do you wander about hunting or build an elevated stand to shoot from? I prefer the stand, when i do hunt. Grinders/traps are very useful for getting drops while focusing on other things such as building a castle/ village/ etc....
I ussaully use a lava blade, but gravity are safer to build. drowning can work. I have one that uses a mobovator to lift them out of an underground spawning area and deliver them to a lava blade. The drops are then flushed out in front of my castle door.
Does anyone have video of a good gravity grinder? I have built the lava blade one and am no longer impressed with it and since I have a new world I would love to build one. Or if you have some decent instructions as to how to just build one that would be huge too.

I'm pretty sure that this one works in the Xbox Version.

Forget that! I use whatever the game allows me to use or do to make it by in survival. (except for going into creative).
Thanks!
