So I built a smoothstone generator you know, lava flowing on top of water makes smoothstone...
Simple enough. So I figured I'd find a way to make it more efficient. Then I stumbled upon something that can apparently make mossy and cracked stone.. well then experimenting I found out I could change wool colors without Dye and change the color of wood. Haven't experimented fully on what else it can change. Well it's Kind of cool so I'd like to share it just don't want to post about it if its "frowned upon". Since I figure cobblestone generators are legit. Not sure if this is considered a "Lockable" post and don't want to get an infraction........ well... is it?

Yeah I'd figure. I didn't go looking for them so I stumbled upon it and didn't see anything about them on the forums.. But that's sweet. Last time when they had the stone stairs turned into mossy or cracked I was hype! and last world after the update I dug out a huge part of the stronghold just to get some, and it was a pain!! lol I kinda don't love em since I like the mining aspect but it's cool knowing I can.... just in case!

I wouldn't say lockable...
Nothing wrong, just don't expect a warm welcome from some that don't like the second thing you mentioned...
Cobblestone and smoothstone generators are actually part of the game mechanics and pretty much intended.
Now the transmutation machine, if you can get one working.... That is another story. That actually I think utilizes a glitch or something to change one thing into another using redstone. I just wish they would simply add something like that to the game. Also all my old transmutation machines that I have made just don't work, and it is mainly because of the sticky pistons position under the water. For some reason it will not push up even when placing a torch.
I have seen another type of the transmutation that might work, but have not yet built it to see if it does. After all I have gone through with 3 different types... I wouldn't mind just being able to do a 1:1 ratio in changing certain blocks of the same type to another of its' type. Like wool colors, wood types, cobble/mossy, stone brick/cracked/mossy, etc.. I really don't like using creative to place any of these as I find that kind of boring and doesn't feel like I truly accomplished much, kinda like short-cutting in a way.
Feel free to mention ones that do work now in the xbox edition I would be one that would love to know...:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
See I like the fact that it's equivalent exchange. Like I had to either smelt the cobble to make smooth and used up coal in the process or I used up silk touch for the smooth stone... Either way It's alot better than going into creative.... like I said the initial work was put in.
But this is it. This is the image, you can then figure out the rest. Both visible pistons are sticky. and under the mossy and cracked is one deep sticky.. while submerged you place on it either wool, wood or a stone brick and it will change the colors of wool, type of wood or stone brick into the other two types. On top of the submerged newly placed block you place a redstone torch and bam! changes it. The circle stone obviously we don't have but! the lenght of the water stream seems to affect the end result..
If you look for the video under "stone generator minecraft" you'll see the video attached to this image...

yeah mine don't work.... Were these made before the 1.8.2 patch? As I can not remake these and have them work... I actually made the first two in 1.8.2 on my 1.7.3 world, but now only the cracked one works... The mossy one was tampered with a bit and accidental save on my part. It just will not push the stone up through the water... The piston just does nothing, even when I build from scratch after the 1.8.2 patch. I have yet to get it to work again. I can sort get the cracked one to work as it wasn't tampered with and left as is.
Kinda disappointing since the mossy one will produce dark wood and that is what I do not have on my 1.7.3 world, well not naturally. I was able to get a half stack of it before it broke. hmm..... I'll have to look into the one I saw though which is this:
I plan to make and test that one as I really want one that works to get a 1:1 ratio, unlike the non-water type that I made, which sometimes has habit of duplication, and doesn't work anymore as well as a conveyer one i had that has a similar thing to the video but only 1 row and rotating the blocks on the other row to in a way mass convert in a way... That last one stopped working in 1.8.2 or rather I never got it to work properly, but did get the conveyer part working. Now though even that part doesn't work...><
Does this obey a certain SW rule or something? The one in the pic, that I know I have made.... hmm...

YES piston face seems to have to point NORTH.. But yeah they're working for me. You can add me the tag is in my thingy on the left there and I can show ya.

Oh ok.... hmm.. didn't use to be like that... hmm... must have been due to the shift in the day night doing a 90 degree shift. That is the coding for that might have changed something.. or not... unsure...
So North huh...hmm... easy enough. I mean I have those exact ones built well for the most part just collecting dust. I'll have to try that, and see if it works.. Thanks...:D
