I may be wrong, but if you bought the game in 1.6.6, if you erase all updates under you system you may be able to get into it.
I would highly suggest backing up everything first, though.

If you've deleted and downloaded the game again, I think you downloaded the latest version, which means you can't go back.
The proper way to go back to an old version is to leave the game installed, and then delete just the updates (by clearing the Xbox Cache). Even then, you can only go back to the last version you downloaded. If you bought the game at 1.6.6, you can get back there by clearing cache, but if you have 1.7.2 installed already you can't go lower.
