I have recently begun to experement with snow golems. I have built a basic case to hold them and repulse mobs but my design is flawed. Does anyone have a better design? and do the amount of golems that can be spawned reset in the neather? and will it be the same case for the end?

I've been putting them on 3x3 platforms at least 3 blocks above the ground. I place fence around the outside of the 3x3 platform leaving them with only one square to move. I place torches on the corner fences. I then build another 3x3 platform 4 blocks above the first with a torch on top. What this does is limits their mobility and covers them from rain, but assures that they fire at pretty much anything around them.
This works beautifully, except a few things.
1.) The snow golem occasionally glitches through the fence and breaks free.
2.) They can't really throw snowballs at anything under them or straight below the platform. I suggest lighting up the area around the tower so they have time to react to whatever comes their way.
3.) You need to make sure all the ground around them is at least 3-4 blocks away from the platform. If creepers make it to the platform, they may blow it up at 3 high.
you could always place it on a 4 high column, they will just sit there
I don't think they will.I've had snow golems jump off of buildings 5 high. They've even gone down ladders.
One even jumped into water... came back out... and terrorized the shoreline.
I have a question also, my bro and sis have been trying to make a snow golem VIP security system and whenever they try making a snow golem (night or day) they keep breaking. (Thank GOD I don't have this bug) Anybody got an idea why?

Wonder how high they'll jump from? Someone video it! LOL
No, I going to try it, but don't have a capture card . . . . or whatever to make a vid.
