So i have an old world (the update that the stronghold came out) and i've explored my stronghold. Now i haven't seen an end portal yet in this world but in the new worlds i have seen the end portal in strongholds. So are there end portals in every stronghold?
Well, not EVERY world.
I mean, there's the possibilty that the world won't have a stronghold or that a ravine will cut through the portal.
yes every world....
I never mentioned that the portal will be in one piece, but it will still have one regardless. There is 1 stronghold per world. Finding it is a whole lot easier than in 1.8.2, as we have those eyes or well the possibility to make them. The eyes of ender don't always lead to the portal room, but they do lead to the stronghold in the very least.
1.8.2 it was sketchy to even know if every world had one. We didn't have the eyes then, and took longer to find them. Now that we do, at least we can find the stronghold. I say it is a step closer to what xbox needs though. Like a fix for the portal being split or in pieces, where as somehow change that part of the generation so that the portal will be in one piece.
Every world that I have been on that is made recent has had a stronghold. The portal room is there, it is a matter of finding it that makes this a bit of a problem. Never had a 3 room stronghold before, at least all the ones I have been in. Even a small stronghold has a chamber for one, just not always intact...

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
well there is a possibility , because the world is infinite, and the game keep's generating new land and structure's the farther you go, so if you go like REALLY REALLY REALLY far it may spawn a stronghold with a portal in it
no. You can't. O_o
PC is far from infinite, but does appear that way. However this is the xbox version we are talking about, and that is quite a big difference in size...

Well, on the PC, it was possible that Strongholds can spawn without an End Portal.
If it's the same on the Xbox 360 Edition, then that is also true. Unless 4J changed something, it is completely possible for your world to have a Stronghold that has no End Portal. It's also possible for it to have no End Portal if something generated after the Stronghold did and generated right on top of the portal room.

I have somehow got the impression that, along with the blaze spawner bug, 4J are in the process of fixing it so that every world will have the means to get to the End. This would then almost have to mean they will ensure that every world has at least one stronghold with 1 intact end portal in it, as well as ensuring that every world has at least 1 nether fortress with at least 1 blaze spawner in it.
I think 4j should make it that ALL structures should be created at least once on each map; with the restricted size that we have on xbox it seems too big a risk to start building on a new world only to find no stronghold, or no village, or even no nether fortress has spawned on that map.
Then there would be no chance to have a almost all ocean map...O_o
Some people actually like those... Villages need desert or plains to spawn on...:D
If they had a variable option to select whether you want villages or not.

I think a combination would be ideal. If the user makes no preference selections, then the world is generated in such a way that all structures and biomes are included at least once. This may make some of the biomes on those totally random maps rather small, but it would guarantee that the user had at least one or some of every resource available to them and completion of the game through to the End would always be possible in those world. Then, to compensate for the world size issue, I would like to see a method of allowing the users to generate a world based on a special selection of biomes and structures (and perhaps percentages of each). This would enable people to readily play survival island challenges or plan adventure maps without having to endless generate random seeds until they "luck into" one that suits their ideas. This would be an IMMENSE timesaver for people who like to build specialty maps.

I can personally attest to finding seeds in the TU7 update that didn't have an end portal. It's easy to tell when you try to throw an eye of ender and nothing happens, but in one case, I tried to follow the eye of ender and it kept trying to lead me to an end portal that I guess would have generated outside of the map? It flew to the map boundary so I dug down, and nothing. Used the X-ray glitch, and nothing showed up.
I started a new world alittle over a week ago. My stronghold is in pieces. Broken up by rocks, dirt, caverns etc.
I can't find the portal. Think I should keep digging around or just start a new world?
I sure hope to balls I don't have to start another.

I can top that, the seed i just got (2067231791) spawned a stronghold with an end portal, it just did it in our version of the "Farlands" (beyond the edge of the map) The seed is awesome otherwise (no netherwort, but 2 blaze spawners), it even had an epic hidden grotto in an extreme hills biome (co-ords X:191, Z:-239).
I found it lastnight. I dug around randomly around the edges of the stronghold. As I was digging I heard the sound of Silverfish but I couldn't see any. So I just dug in the direction of the sound and broke through into the Ender portal chamber. I wrote down the coordinates, exited without saving then went back and dug straight down saving every 10 or so blocks.
Now to kill a bunch of Ender Men.
I can say not every world spawns with an End Portal. I have Eyes of Enders and the eyes just led to the edge of the world. I used the X-Ray glitch and there was no sign on an End Portal.
Any world that has been made after this recent update will have that portal room, and only the 1.
So for new worlds it will for every world.

Actually a Ravine cuts into the stronghold in my world and the ender portal just sort of sits in it
