In Minecraft Xbox 360 I've seen that holding down a will pickup and drop an item very quickly but it doesn't work on mine. What's wrong?
when you go to the item inventory (main menu for switching items) you can press "A" to pick up the stack or individual item, then press "B" which will immediately drop the item you selected out of your inventory. It's a quicker way than dragging. Hope this helped

Well, first, it seemed like you were missing a noun there, so I suggest making it clearer it was the "A" button and not a (something).
Second, holding the button will pick up and place the item right back again...so I don't see the point there...
As for dropping, grab the stack with "A" and then close your inventory with "B" for fastest dropping of one item/set.
Multiple items/sets should be drug and dropped off the side of your inventory.

Are you talking about the quick move thingy to move items from hot bar to inventory really fast & vise-versa..?
If you are then you really aught to look at the controller layout in the menus; since that is Y not A.
A just picks up selected stuff in inventory...and you drag and press A again to place it somewhere else in inventory.
