Alright. After going through a few random generated worlds, finding nothin useful, i went through several worlds of my own seed generations. Three of the ten i generated were awesome to me, had Mushroom biomes, decent size too, a swamp maybe, and a village or two. no nether fortress.
I decided to go with TU7 suggested seeds in the forums, found the perfect seed for me. YAY! Big mushroom biome, sadly no swamp, but has villages and good space, not to mention a huge as hell stronghold and a HUGE NETHER FORTRESS!. Has Everything, Blazes spawners and nether warts.
THing is... I CAN'T GROW THEM! What am i doing wrong? At first i placed a farm in my house in the overworld, i found out as of this update, nethers are unable to grow in the overworld, so i went back into the nether, planted them in soulsand right behind my cobblestone covered portal (seven stinkin ghasts are camping the thing! I had to remodel the thing just to plant, and even then it's as if i'll never get a big farm) WHat am i doing wrong? i have a three by four soul sand garden full of nether warts that won';t grow!
Also, i understand Enchanting is the luck of the draw, no one knows what they will get, but know that they need to give a certain amount of levels to enchant something, but i want to ask. WHat ARE the current enchantments? Anyone know alink or something? I don't know if 4J put in all enchantment options for the table to give you for this version of the game, but if not, then i may need help understanding what i need to go for.
You have to be in the nether (nearby the farm) for the warts to grow.
As for enchanting, all the enchantments are up-to-date (minus Thorns from the new snapshots). You could do yourself a favor by looking up the recommended levels for specific enchantments.
I have netherwart planted on soul sand near my portal. If I harvest it and then leave the nether right away, it doesn't grow while I'm in the overworld. I do find, however, that they do grow very quickly if I stay into the nether even just for a few minutes.
I find the Wiki page for enchanting is pretty accurate even though it's written for the PC. As was already mentioned, we just don't have thorns or any of the other enchantments that require an Anvil.
Nether Wart can only be farmed in the Nether on Soul Sand.

That should be right. Here is the wiki for everything Enchanting related http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Enchanting Just ignore anything about level V, Anvils, Enchanted Books, or Repairing. None of that is in our version.
well that sucks, i have to be near the farm i made for the warts to actually grow? Ugh.... MEaning i will need to first get alot of arrows.... or get lucky and get infinity. as for enchantment, thank, as long as i know that i can get all the enchantments to date, i can get them. i know every trick to kill a certain mob (except Skeletons and spider jockeys. former because they got range, and are snipers on hard, and the latter is too rare for me to actually understand how to get em.)

All I've done is planted about 10 netherwart in a strip of soul sand basically right in front of my portal. Netherwart isn't like wheat... you don't have to worry about trampling it. Since I've housed my portal in cobblestone to protect it from ghasts anyway, I can just pop into my "portal room" for a couple of minutes, watch the netherwart grow and pop back out without a single ghast ever knowing I've been there. No arrows required... and, honest, it really doesn't take that long. I've also put in a crafting table and furnace by my portal, so I can also smelt or craft some things while I wait.

TO get the size of the farm and room required to do what YOU have done, without the chance of accidently exiting my nether due to the portal being almost right there by the warts, i need to go otu and build my cobblestone base of operations BIGGER. thus, i have to face off against eight ghasts, who are being camping noobs. thus, i need to kill them. my ability to throw their balls back at them lacks, as well as accurately htiting them with said fireballs being thrown back. my guarenteed way of killing them is a bow and arrows. i need to kill them to build bigger for my cobblestone base, so you see my delima

I doubt you would accidentally exit the nether just collecting a few warts beside the portal. If you do accidentally step into the portal, you do have a quick second to back out again before you start to actually leave the nether. I would say, though, that you'll find it well worth the effort it will take to enlarge your portal room to have even a few netherwart you can access without venturing out to face ghasts all the time. All you really need to get started is maybe 2 plants and just keep replanting them right away each time you collect.

build a base out of cobblestone in the nether it is resistant to ghast fire balls and look on the mine craft wiki for enchanting stuff or click here-http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Enchanting
