Right my platform in the sky is ready to become a castle
Originally dirt and cobble but now I have stone bricks and netherbrick.
Not enough of each to make a full castle yet but I need to decide what im going to use.
The two towers from mine's to the platform have been redone in stoneblocks as one of them will be connected to the fortress inside the mountain but I had quite liked the idea of all the castle being in netherbrick, praying I have enough but I might not, we will see when the fortress in the nether has been semi demolished
I know its personal preference but anyone got some ideas for me brick scheme wise thinking two layers outside nether and inside stone or vice versa
To conserve on your nether brick, I would make only the 1 outer layer from nether brick. If you're wanting the castle walls to be 3 blocks thick, I would do a central core of obsidian (which can't be seen from either side anyway and it is the strongest survival block in the game). Then, I would do the interior out of stone brick or whatever other material you like.
That will take a lot of diamond pickaxes, not been able to work out the enchanting table yet though some times it does unbreakable, sometimes efficiency and sometimes both not sure how to get them level 3 either only managed up to 1 so far but been trying it with stone pickaxes

The higher level you put into the enchantment, the higher the chance you have for more and better enchantments, so try atleast lvl 20 i would say
wait until your level 30 to enchant. Once level 30 save the game and Enchant your pickaxe exit without saving after you enchant until you have unbreaking IV and efficiency IV with either silk touch I or Fortune III.

You do not need diamond pick axe to create obsidian in place. Just be sure that you want the obsidian where you need it and mold it in place. Doing it that way you will not have to mine obsidian constantly, only time you would need to mine is when you make a mistake. Which is why I mention be sure you want it there.

One diamond pickaxe can mine 1,541 blocks of obsidian (that's about 24 stacks of it), even without an enchantment. The trick is to cut down the losses of obsidian into lava underneath it by leaving the water that you poured onto the lake in place as you mine the layer. As each block pops, the water instantly turns any adjacent lava into obsidian as well and the obsidian drop doesn't get burned up. Since any other block, including diamond can be mined with an iron pickaxe, I also reserve my diamond pickaxes mostly for use exclusively on obsidian blocks. The exception is if I get a Fortune or Silk Touch enchantment on a diamond pickaxe. Then I will use it occasionally on other blocks. Still, they last a long, long time. Also, when you do mine out an entire lava lake on Level 12, you often encounter diamonds right under the lava, which often more than replace the pickaxe as it is used.

Cant believe I never thought of that, defo happening
Having issue where by only full blocks are turning into obsidian and the blocks around it are turning into a cobblestone, so ive made molds and ive been filling each block seperately but thers about going to be over 10k of blocks so dont want to fill every single block in.
You have to fill each space with a source block of lava. The ones turning into cobblestone are lava overflow from an adjacent source, not an actual lava source themselves.
