Any good tips on getting gunpowder? Obviously I know to kill creepers but is there any other way? Also in getting flowers for dyes, is there any way to farm flowers or mass produce them? Any help would be great! Thanks!
There are only two ways I know of to collect gunpowder: killing creepers, and killing ghasts. As for flowers, I don't believe it's possible to farm them, but then again, I've never tried.
Gunpowder? My suggestion is to build yourself a mob grinder. The larger the better.
Flowers? I'm not sure if this still works, but give it a try anyway. Build yourself a dirt hut on a patch of grass, say, 6x6x2. Go inside it & patch your entrance so it is completely dark. With a bunch of bone meal in hand, spam it onto the grass. This will get you a plenty of flowers & seeds in a short amount of time.
Edit: I can confirm that this still works. I got back 161 flowers, 82 roses & 199 seeds, from one stack of bone meal, all in under 1 minute.

I have a set up similar to this... if you want to you can add me and i'll shot it to you it's dimly lit with 2 glowstones behind half slabs and it allows instant growth with bonemeal but then registers it as too dim and they pop off as mainly flowers and some seeds.. I have more flowers than i know what to do with.. purpose was for my wheat farm. But yeah works great! and just build a gravity grinder for the gunpowder. You'll have tons of the stuff and its 99% safe

for flowers if u bonemeal normal grass areas you will sometimes get a few flowers
when bonemealing grass blocks for flowers better results are obtained on flat surfaces. when i have bonemealed hill sides and uneven terrain it ussually gives me less grass and flowers.
Creepers drop gunpowder when they are killed, as do ghasts. Gunpowder may also be found in dungeon, mineshaft and stronghold chests.
Since there are no creeper spawners, a general mob drop trap or mob lava grinder is probably the most efficient way in Survival to obtain large quantities of gunpower.
Flowers may be generated along with tall grass by bonemealing short grass. It is a random thing, so you have no real control over how many flowers you might get of each color with each attempt. If you cover an area of grass with a dark room, the tall grass and flowers will grow and then immediately pop as a drop due to the lack of light. This makes harvesting go a little quicker.
