I think I posted my idea in the wrong forum before but my idea was maybe they could make maps for you t
o buy with Microsoft points after The End Update on Xbox and its a seed you download on Xbox and after you download it they will make the seed a map like New York or Equestria or Hyrule. The Update Will have texture things so it might be possable this is an idea I had while talking to my friend about updates for Minecraft on my Xbox and why they cant have diffrent servers and mods I have no Computer so I play on my Xbox and Im a big Gamer/Brony and I play Minecraft alot but waiting for the new skin packs and updates is gitting kind of boring since every village on the game is the same so I thought of this. Tell me what you think ?
1. It takes forever couse there are no seeds for pre bilt structures or servers
2.I dont have the time IE I have work chores and a busy life style
3. Easy way for Notch and Microsoft to make money
4. If you dont have that many friend to play with you all you have to do is play and exsplore
5. biggest reason but not for everybody lazyness

unless people care an awful lot things will not cange they just will not
What you're asking for is pre-made maps, not seeds. It's not a bad idea, as long as each map isn't too pricy. I've enjoyed exploring the tutorial worlds from each update, and a huge city would be even better. But I don't think 4j would be able to (nor would I want to see this particular example) a world based on a child's cartoon, due to copyright.

You work? From your posts, I could swear you were a nine year old who hasn't passed the fourth grade (I'm talking about your spelling here), that's besides the point though. Pre-built maps would be a stupid idea for 4J and Microsoft to make money. The time it would take the actually make the map would be far more than programming something new into the game and selling it for more.

This is probably the big stumbling block alright. As a company, 4J just couldn't usurp maps built by users and sell them through Microsoft Live. As mere users, map builders (and modders) are blocked from selling things related to the game separately through Live because they don't own development rights to the game itself. It would be nice to be able to download interesting pre-made maps allright. I just don't know if all the legalities can be worked out among the various parties involved in bringing Minecraft onto the XBox... and then whether or not there would be enough profit in it to make it worth their effort to do it.

It seems like he is thinking along the lines of an adventure map kinda deal. Not a bad idea and an easy way for 4J to implement it would be to hold a contest for best city, best blah, best blah-blah. Download their map, slightly change it for this intended purpose, resell it/give it for free. Give them sometype of reward (percentage of micropoints or $). Everybody wins.

Ya thanks for understanding I have brain damage so it is kind of hard for me to git my thoughts down on paper or in this case in text I was thinking after you downloaded it the code to start it would be the seed whenever you put that code in the seed slot on the 360 that map witch would then would be paired with that code would apear you would be able to build and rename it if you pleased but there would always be a tag attatched so people could know that it was a pre-built map to start with.

That's not likely to ever happen that way, since the "ownership" of the pre-built map would be an issue causing possible copyright infringement headaches for Mojang, 4J, and/or Microsoft. In order for this consortium of companies to redistribute someone else's "creation" (in whole or in part) through the Live network, they would need to somehow acquire the rights to do so. As CaliMeatWagon suggested, a contest of some sort might do the trick... it might not... it depends what jurisdictions apply (keeping in mind that Mojang is in Sweden, 4J in Scotland, and Microsoft is in the US, and the creator of the map could be anywhere in the world). I like the idea of it. I just don't think it's a really simple thing to arrange with all the different companies involved in bringing this game onto the XBox.

The Minecraft Wiki is really geared to the PC, and not the XBox. According to one of Notch's blogs written in April 2011, modders register with Mojang in order to receive the code and in that registration they agree to let Mojang incorporate their mods into the game (even directly) if Mojang wants. In effect, they enter into a contract with Mojang and agree to the terms and conditions in the contract.
Now, the blog is almost a year old and a blog is not a legal document; but there is a likelihood that some sort of version of that is in place on the PC. The XBox, on the other hand, has never been nor will it likely ever be very accommodating of "open-source" concepts. It is, afterall, a M$ product. Also, at Minecon 2012, Mojang, 4J and Microsoft described their working relationship as a sort of partnership and then the rep from Mojang indicated that they wanted to keep their distinctive stamp on the XBox version of the game. So, I just don't see user maps or user mods ever really flying on the XBox. Of course, they might prove my skepticism wrong by negotiating their way through the melee; but I'm not feeling those vibes from them based on the Minecon panel video.

Im just thinking that with the new update they can make it so you can download maps and when you download it that it will pair it with a spacific code that you can put in the seed generater section but to git it to generate the map you would have to go into more options and turn generate random structures off witch you can already do that would make it to where there are no Nether Fortesses towns or people but I was playing before there were any of thouse anyway and besides it would only start in creater mode anyway you could switch it to servival but you still would have to start a seprate map on survival to git acheivments anyway
I would like to know how to move this topic to the Xbox part of the forums cause I dont want to git a infraction and git banned I made a mistake putting it here before I saw that this was for the PC and didnt see the Xbox section in time and nobody commented that this was in the wrong section so I kept replying I like talking in this discution but I think I might git banned if I keep it up so if this is the wrong section how do I move it any help would be appreciated
According to the listing at the top, it is on the XBox portion of the forums.
Anybody know Notchs twitter Id like to see if this idea intrests him if not anyone know how to git in touch with Mojang
sorry, I was being stupid and didnt think to read your links while I was being clueless I got Junkboys twitter account and thanks for the info but I seariusly dought that Microsoft will look to any of its many loyal followers
to improve there verson of Minecraft that is why I came up with this thought. My friend works at Gamestop and was going to be a Manager. They kept hiring replacments and he got swept under the rug.He still works there and figured out how the corperation work from the inside. He knows how to think from a corperations point of view. Since it is a game store he is intouch with some companies. He's the brains, and I was the imagenation of the talk, and so we brainstormed. We figured out that Microsoft would not allow Mods of any type couse they would have to give out there codes and stuff then if it was somebody smart and untrust worthy they could just reverse enginer it and Microsoft doesnt want that so they are just sitting on there gold mine, and wont let any other companies work on it. My friend and I came up with downloadable maps and we know that if there already making The End update then it will have to be implimented in another update and I came up with the idea that it could be called the Seed Update but it would create a new slot under the Seed Slot.We could call it the Map Slot you download the map and they will give you a randomly generated code. You put in that code and then you name the map it assigns that name with a Hex Number and anytime you enter that name in the map generater slot you will git that map, and you can save the map under a different name but the Hex Number will never go away you can build destroy and save all you want but cant share or copy does that sound cool?

The maps are random... on purpose.
